  • Euw. Looks like a TR7 with prancing horses on it and big bum.

  • Still would

  • Yeah but....

One of the greatest back end and rear quarters ever designed. And the noise of that flat 12? Hubba.

  • How can you perfect on perfection?

  • Found my car wouldn't start last night, I'd jump started my mum's car a couple of weeks before (dunno if that had anything to do with it). I opened the bonnet to find this:

Looks like rat turds, bird bones and a snail shell. WTF?

Anyway, needless to say I'd forgotten to renew my breakdown cover (anyone got a recommendation?), so was stood by the road with bonnet up looking forlorn when a chap stopped and asked if I was alright, he did a quick loop around the block to end up facing the right way and then my old rasta neighbour came out and asked if I was ok as well. Ended up with my neighbour jumping the car and other good samaritan returned just as it was starting.

Restored my faith in humanity, and in the people of new cross! :) worried about my rat infestation though.

  • Wasn't that Agnelli's personal car?

  • Yep. One off.

  • Just got tickets for Auto Italia at Brooklands end of the month, very excited but will be going in Herman the German as the Ghibli won't quite be ready yet.

End of the month it should be finished then off for rustproofing then off for paint correction and detailing. Then pictures. Then all set for Goodwood :)

  • The 512 was a significantly better car than the Testarossa, which had been universally acknowledged as an utter dog...

  • I was at the Louwman Museum yesterday. Fuck me, what a car collection. I was nearly sick on myself with excitement when I saw this:

  • So many special cars.

  • I avoided catastrophic failure by a whisker in the green wolf. It developed a slight misfire as we left Ghent. I ignored it for a while.

When we got to the Hoge Veluwe(?) national park, I had a quick rikki-style diagnosis (push all the leads on, wiggle a few things...) and then popped the dizzy cap off to find the optical trigger snapped at the base! It was held in place purely by the weight of three tiny wires. I can't believe the car was still running.

Of course I didn't bring any spares or tools (well, a leatherman and a bottle of water), so I walked about 2 miles into a town and bought a tube of superglue.

I glued it onto the dizzy plate, which will be a fucker later, but nearly 900 miles on, we are in The Hague, heading to Antwerp tomorrow and the little Pom is still beasting the amazing Dutch roads.

I love this little hunk of junk sometimes. (and Holland, btw)

  • Sweet.

  • That's awesome, Richie... Knock 'em dead, smoke a doob for me... TTTD just walked in with two of the biggest bags of green I've ever seen in my life... #straya

  • I have a pretty severe Jamaican hangover this morning, as it goes. Staying with some friends in The Hague and there is a coffee shop type place a few doors down.

Our friends are diplomats, so the jeeb is parked in the British embassy. I feel like a spy.

  • "The name's Bond... Big Red Bond"

  • My best tip: if you are going south, look into the trains from Paris. We drove there, whacked the car on the 12 o'clock train, got a cab to the airport and was in Nice, drinking a glass of wine by mid afternoon. The was ready to pick up in Nice at 12 the next day. We were in Florence for 3pm.

Definitely a nicer way to start the holiday than 3 days schlepping through the boring middle of France. Especially for a passenger.

They have changed - they now all go from Paris, but to different corners of France.

  • That is nice enough but the TR is so perfect and of it's time, the attempts to facelift it never sat right with me

  • Is a 4.0l jeep cherokee 1997 vintage a bad idea for a second car? Will it just be a car shaped money pit?

  • Went to ATP festival in Prestatyn this weekend. Would have been rude not to check out the Evo Triangle

  • Quite like that in primer grey.

  • I've got some shockingly bad GoPro footage to look at. The car vibrates way too much for a GoPro, I don't know the race teams get decent footage.

  • really really like this, any changes under the bonnet?

  • Great if you own an oil refinery. Are you buying it just because it's there or do you need four wheel drive?
