Next year they will put in the right mileage and it will all make sense to a prospective buyer again.
My service record lost and gained 10,000 miles once. -

Fair enough, slightly worried by the fact that the new MOT certificates have four years history, but guess I will just have to explain it to any prospective buyer...
To be fair an '07 plate diesel Seat with 100k is probably worth bugger all anyway!

this is the other member of scuderia fredo's racing car. he managed to bash it up pretty good at druids on saturday, when a rod let go.
with all of the lovely cars at brands that day, i swear, this was the one ALL the little kids wanted to sit in/take pics of/etc

Not my cup of tea, those. Too much whiff of 2nd division footballer about them.

Hmm.
How about something old and German?
-
• #24784
how about a 2002?

Either or really...

I did like my Merc but it broke a lot. If a car's going to do that anyway then it might as well be British.

What about a clean 205 GTi for laughs, driving fun and cheapness?

You know what I think (do it! do it!) but I wouldn't go for that XJS. £4-6k can buy you one of a similar age which has been well looked after and not messed about with. I personally really like the 88/89ish cars but the X-JS (pre-HE) has the best future classic potential and are faster (and the nicest wheels) but use EVEN MORE fuel and lack some of the 'refinements' of later models.
I do think one big advantage of a car like an XJS is that ideally you would garage it to keep it dry, but you can keep it on the street because most scrotes don't have the foggiest what it is.

You know that makes sense...

Re: your £12,995 buy it now XJ6, £12.5k would buy you an XJ6 described by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club as "the best original XJ6 in Britain" two years ago:
http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/detail/motors/classic-cars/jaguar/xj/112411I reckon they'd take a cheeky £12k offer. You could drive around pretending to be royalty then eat your dinner out of the engine bay :)

I owned the best early saloon alfasud that existed according to classic car....three years after the article.

Here is a collection of very bad ideas...
ebay.co.uk/itm/1992-BLACK-CADILLAC-SEVILLE-STS-only-22591-miles-/171948772840?hash=item2808f20de8 - Er why, blandness in a car.
ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-TR7-V8-1981-/221899061764?hash=item33aa36fa04 - V8 common swap as the 2l engine was heavy and made the car tail happy. The V8 engine was lighter so needed more than the brakes upgrading needed the dampers changed and the springs. wrong wheels needs to be compomotive, Look at the grinnall v8 conversion to see how it should be done
ebay.co.uk/itm/1981-DeLorean-16-000-Original-Miles-Books-and-Records-Very-original-/121773755999?hash=item1c5a480e5f You know why it has such low mileage? As both the engines fitted were underpowered and broke down alot. Worth it to say you have owned one but they are a moneypit...it is hard to get to 88mph in one.
ebay.co.uk/itm/1971-FORD-MUSTANG-MACH-1-351C-AUTO-M-CODE-FASTBACK-/331665725943?hash=item4d38d159f7 - More expensive due to the topgear effect?
ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-MERCEDES-190E-2-5-16-COSWORTH-NO-RESERVE-/271997684760?hash=item3f54534c18 - It should be cheap as they weren't that nice.
ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-BENTLEY-MULSANNE-S-/121769183254?hash=item1c5a024816 Get a dented one and matt black it
ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-JAGUAR-XJS-V12-5-3-Auto-Full-Service-History-MOT-Excellent-Condition-/291557583040?hash=item43e22fa8c0 Yes V12 goodness
ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-XJ6-series-1-1971-in-A1-Condition-with-79159-original-mile-s-/171951821013?hash=item28092090d5 - Rebuilt alot as they broke down alot. Had one in the 80's and it was less reliable than the jensen intercetper that followed it. Oh and leaks and things break, the usual answer is yeah they do that
ebay.co.uk/itm/extremely-rare-innocenti-mini-turbo-de-tomaso-year-1989-/262065556394?hash=item3d04530baa It is in Italy bah the diatsu 3 cylinder turbo engine is just as good in the charade as in that. A112 and you know that makes sense. -

At the time none of them were very sought after, so i was able to buy them and modify them to produce twice the power they started off with. I love q cars. The rx3 and rx7 have the wonderful wankel rotary motors, Australian and New Zealanders will know about brap brap motors. I miss them so much. They had to go as I am restoring a 55 Citroen Hy van and have a large collection of vintage road bikes.
Sorry to distract from the fantasy car buying...
Had my car MOt'd in January, just checked my certificate and realised they have put the mileage in wrong, they have knocked 40k off the clock! Is this something that can be changed?
