My drivers side front keeps slooooooowly going down - likely to be a fault with the alloy or the tyre?
I think it did this (but not to the same degree) with the old tyre so I am assuming alloy.
In which case is there a sealing process/gunk?

I had that and took the wheel to a tyre shop. They polished th inside of the rim (ooh) and put a sealant on the bead.
Worked a treat.

Yep. Rockley rd on the way to my house. Across the road from the budgens
I think it was a tenner.

Sort of jealous of your lovely fast newish car.
I dropped off my heavy slow old car with a complete stranger in a town I don't known and gave him £100 in cash.
He seems like a top guy and I've only heard of him because people on the Mercedes 190 forum absolutely evangelise about him. He said he works for £30 an hour and won't charge for parts unless he has to buy them - and he showed me a couple of lock up garages full of bits of old Mercedes.
Could go horribly wrong or it could be a revelation - tune in next Saturday.

what are you having done?
-
• #23784
Loads of little bits and pieces. New rear brake discs and calipers, brake fluid changed, brake hoses and coolant hose replaced, cold start problem diagnosed and fixed, air box leak fixed, rear window motors replaced, blower motor (or fuse) replaced, exhaust hangers properly fitted, and door cards replaced if he has spares.
If all that gets sorted, then there's one large dent and a bit of waxing to sort out and we're in business.

On the recent topic of fucking up nice (IMO) cars with ridiculous 'stance' mods:

+1 that's ruined.

• #23787
Yep :)

No all four :) We do all that except diamond cutting

• #23789
Good luck, I hope that works out for you as thats a fair chunk of work for £100.
Dents? I like dents ;)

Taps nose....its big and has a V8 :D
-
• #23791
It's probably going to be more like £250, £100 is a deposit.
He was literally pointing at things on the car saying 'I've got a better/newer one on the shelf I can put in' so I'm hoping the service will be of the 'mate in a bike workshop' ilk.
As for the dents, one of them is a big 'un but I'll bring them to you and see what you can do?

@tommmmmmm people like that are rarer than rocking horse shit - if he's good, you'll go back to him again and again.
-
• #23793
^bang on. You'll thank the Lord that you can just take it to him rather than (if you are anything like me) spending hour trying diagnose via Internet research.
I fucking love this little golf, but I fucking hate the new car noises. The ones where's you think 'what the fuck is that rattle?' 'Is the engine too noisy' etc. I always get paranoid

The guy phoned me to say it was going to cost a grand and he wouldn't give the car back unless I paid him. Luckily this happened in a dream and I only just remembered it.
He is a massive fan of Jaguars as well as Mercedes and gave me a lift to the station in an XJS he has just put a new engine in for a friend. Oh my God.

Rare lambo sighting in the wild. Ten points if you know the model :)

Jalpa?

I said Jalpa too. I actually voiced it confidently to my companion. Wrong.
if per wheel, 160 does not compare well with 102 from pristine/lepsons, and that's for stripping, re-circularising, diamond cut finish and lacquer. for straightforward strip, finish, lacquer the benchmark is appx 82
