Does your mum have to drive it?
Cheap Bseries Aurelia, would need some work but will make money. But not an everyday car
If you can find a decent escort/cortina/anglia they seem to be holding their money and finding a good one is very difficult and similar prices look at mexico/lotus prices...I shit you not.
Something that is eligible for classic racing will increase in price look at the difference in Lotus elan (the proper one) prices for those eligible for racing and those that arent due to being too young.

Aston DB9s must surely be close to the bottom of their market right now. If they have reached 25k yet I can't see them dipping far below it. DB7s have gone far lower, but they are much less of a car and will always carry a bit of the "Jag in drag" image with them.
If you're looking for a profit you might be in it for the long haul, but boy I wish I'd had the cash available to buy an 80's V8 when they were hovering around the 30k mark.

I sourced a V8 vantage (Webers) for a client. It was a real beast built like a tank too

Fuck. Yeah.

A rubbish tank that breaks down all the time. #britishengineering
My [only rich] pal bought one new at the beginning and had three replacements from the dealer over a 9 month period, each time being promised this was the one that wouldn't keep going wrong. He gave up after the third one broke and bought something else.
They're not £25k, they're £40k including a £15k contingency for all the fally-offy bits.
Still would, mind.

a db9 0r a v8 vantage for 25k?
-
• #21888
Just to clear this page up, the speculation was that DB9s must be close to £25k. No value was placed on V8s but BQ lamented not being able to grab one when they were £30k.
exits stage right

There were 3 distinct V8 Vantage models (70s/80s, 90s and 00s) which seems to have cause some confusion.
A £25k DB9 will be pretty ropey and I'm not convinced they'll go up significantly over a 10 year period.

BQ was saying the DB9 may be available for 25k, not the V8

Buy £25k's worth of shares in Tesco.

Or BP.

Does the boot catch work? i.e it stays closed but won't lock?
When you use the central locking, can you hear the mechanism in the boot move/work at all?
If so, It sounds like it's a mechanical failure if neither the fob nor the key work so it might be worth removing the trim from the inside and checking for broken/worn/damaged parts.

New Mustang in RHD is looking seriously good value. £28,995 for the 2.3 Turbo and £32,995 for the 5.0 both with a big spec. For the same price as a Golf GTI with a couple of options it looks awesome:

Oh dear, no.

The 5.0 is a thoroughly fabulous engine. A little frigging ripsnorter.

fuckinghell. had a fuel leak from my little fiat. noticed the smell first, which gradually got stronger every time I went in to the garage over the last week or two. I looked under the car but couldn't really see much in the way of an obvious leak so i drove it to a local garage (via dropping the wife off in town). The guy calls me back on monday to tell me rather than the suspected loose hose or whatever there was an actual hole in the tank. following day i went back to my garage to get my bike and the stench of petrol in there was still almost overpowering. It was only on returning the bike that evening that my lights picked out the tidemark at the edge of the spill. It was right up to, and out of the garage door. The reason I couldn't see the spot where the fuel was leaking was because the entire garage floor was stained with leaking fuel. On closer inspection it had actually run out from under the door, soaked into (and up) the walls and into all the boxes and furniture in there. I'm amazed i didn't go up in ball of flames the last time I started it up and drove out of there. Thank fuck I gave up smoking.
