It seems like nice E30's are getting more expensive every time I look, what alternatives are there? Been looking at Merc w201, more auto than manual but still a few out there
What other options are there for 80s/90s box-pervs?

you can fit two (57cm-ish road) bikes, one with the front wheel off the other in tact, in the back of a corsa b. that's £400 quid tops, and at that price you wouldn't even bother cleaning the mud out the back when you're done. doesn't need to be an estate car to be a suitable bike-transporter, as long as you're not looking to carry more than two people at the same time as all the gear.
(disclosure: finally offloading my corsa in the coming weeks, if someone's mug enough to buy it)
How much? I need a cheap car to get to races and shit.

Not much, but I'm flogging it because the head gasket is on the way out. I'd steer clear of this particular example.

BRM, are you spending all that cash on the B series or putting something else in?
Because if you are planning custom fuel injection anyway there must be any number of rusty cheap Rover 820s with a good strong 16 valve motor that will bolt straight in to the existing gearbox and engine mounts. 140bhp as standard with potential for a lot more. There was a longitudinal version in the Discovery with an inlet manifold facing the right way. (They used the FWD version in the Morgan with a long trunking going round to the front.) -

Not ideal. If anyone knows of a small, reliable car for under 1k - let me know please. Was thinking Seat Arosa, VW Polo, Honda Jazz or something similar.

We used to have a yaris that seemed massive inside - with the seats folded down we took two bicycles and tetnts etc and toured france in ours.
Very reliable, very frugal, fun throwing it around corners. This was a 99(T) so the first of the Yaris's.

Lotus carlton?...
Geek - is that the right bonnet badge?
-
• #19924
Based on recent postings I'm assuming everyone else frequents Pistonheads as we all just take it in turns to post things from there.
See the guy who bought the Lotus Carlton with no history and managed to buy the history from the previous owner?

No! Sounds great! I've wanted one of those things since I was about 16. Was thinking about it earlier and thought this was the place to discuss it. And you're right - wrong badge!
50 would be heaps! i reckon i have 50 now, in a car that weighs a tonne and that iss enough for circle work in the wet.
