  • I'd hope it's had at least 1 cambelt in 120,000 miles!

Other than that, it's a solid option. Can't go wrong with an Octavia estate. Diesel will be good for the drive to Wales. Make sure you check out insurance first though.

  • ^also check if it has the Teves MK-60 ESP system (I think all 2nd gen Octavia's do) - these are notorious for failing and pricey to replace....

  • I couldn't drive a Skoda

  • your new found wealth has made you a snob glover

i bet you tick upper middle on any surveys you complete these days

  • ^^ for real?

  • Skodas were beyond shit when I was at school and forming my brand opinions, it's too entrenched

  • 11 times on the trot world rally champions with the estelle model and the 130rs

  • Yeah alright grandad!

  • had three in my teens
    105l
    120lse
    and 130gl

    great cars
they handle just like a porsche 911 ( back when the 911 didn't handle very well )

not mine but a nice example of the 120lse

  • I could drive a Skoda, but not own one - for the same reason I don't want to own a VW, Audi or SEAT. They're really fucking boring.
Skoda of today have nothing in common with ^that lot.

I had quite a few of them, i liked them. Bottom end was good for 8k just restricted by the jikov carbs.

  • The grandfather of a school friend bought her a 120 as a joke, it cost him £45 from a neighbour. Wicked car. We were all rolling in metros so a bit of extra room made a big difference. Then another friend used to borrow her dads montego turbo and that was the car to get a lift in. Quick as fuck when you're 17, no idea how she was insured as it was a company vehicle.

  • My MIG welder would piss that, of sorts...
Maybe a touch of stopper? (can't say baby's bum)

  • Never liked 246 Dinos. I hope Ferrari don't go down the 'budget ' road again, it really doesn't become them.

  • Signs that the economy might be due another 'correction'...

    Number One

    Number Two

  • Really? A decade ago, a friend asked me what he should stick a million dollars into. I told him to go out and find three 300sl's and sit on them.

He invested it in property in Southern Spain...

  • Wise.

  • Or not. He lost about 80% of that investment.

All he was worried about was whether or not he could get RHD versions of the SL's.

    Twat.

  • i fancy one of these rocketships:

  • signs that the economy might be due another 'correction'...

    number one

    number two

    ffs.

  • my neighbour with the 996 said he'd been waiting for the 996 to reach the bottom
he reckoned they'll start increasing in value from here on in

classic car status in 12 - 14 years

  • Er, no. Too many of them.

    Better off buying a 993 or a 964.
