  • I'm now imagining Jung dressed like Swiss Toni, for some reason.

  • My Hi-top Ford Camper has a 5.9lt V8 and gets about 17mpg on the open road.
Pretty amazing really as it weighs more than a small galaxy.

    Funny american gallons?

  • Ooh, F1 will be slightly less boring this year. Progress.

Depends if there is another team that has sussed traction control.

  • for those who aren't instacunts

  • Don't you get told off by the old bill for the numbers?

  • Nope...should I concerned?

  • You're supposed to remove or strike-through competition numbers when the car is on a public highway, to signify that the car is not currently participating in a race or road rally. In your shot I'm guessing it's technically on private land, but a sharp traffic cop could pull you on the way to or from for displaying numbers.
That's why you don't see Euro scene kids stickering up their hatchbacks like BTCC/DTM cars.

  • I don't think that's true.

  • Tbh I don't know the definitive answer on legality of numbers, just hearsay. I recall that the MSA get very shirty about it if you're a member.
Here's a PH thread on it. I haven't read it myself, can't abide PH.

That is just certain racing club rules, and has been for a while if the car is a race car and if you hold a race licence. Hence the need to have the number crossed out. While Germany has different laws.

  • Nope...should I concerned?

Back in the day, I was pulled over for all sorts of reason and numbers was another excuse.

  • It's not illegal, it's a common myth. As you and Lynx both said, it's certain racing clubs that don't allow it, in the way that if you're a member of a cycling club and you're in kit, they don't approve of you riding through red lights.

  • So I'm living away from where my car is registered at the minute, but only for another couple months. Problem is my car insurance is due for renewal now and this address will mean £180 increase. Should I leave it as is? or change it and renegotiate in a couple months?

You need to tell them otherwise your insurance may become invalid.

They'll use any excuse to get out of a payout and if they find out you're not keeping your car where you say you are, it's a pretty good one.

If you're already at a different address you should have informed them.

Where does your driving licence say?

  • tricky corner ?

  • this car has been parked in the same place just round the corner from me for the last 10-15 years
    never moved, usually covered

  • You're definitely trying to discourage me...

Bit late to this, and extremely biased, but you should do it.
I have a soft spot for MX5's and I'm missing the Eunos I left behind when I moved but TVR's are like not many other cars. I can't think of any other car that feels, sounds, drives and just exists like a Tiv. They aren't without their problems but it's kind of what makes them so interesting. Chassis rot is becoming the most serious problem with the cars of the Griff and Chimera era. Do plenty of research and look at a few and you'll start to see the difference between good and bad ones!

If it's something you start to look seriously into let me know if you have any questions and I'll try and help out. With my dad selling them for longer than I've been alive, I've ended up spending a more time than any sane person should around them.

  • The Tuscan that has started parking outside my place has the same brakes as my Volvo, which made me chuckle this morning.

Ooh nice Buick. Well if they don't want it they should give it to me.

  • Where does your driving licence say?

It doesn't matter what your driving licence says.

The insurance is based on where the car is kept overnight. My car spends a lot of time at a different address and my insurers know of this and base my insurance quote on the higher risk address. (Which is my home address anyway.)

You may find that your insurance doesn't change but at least you know you are definitely covered in the event of something happening.

  • Brutal.

Somehow american in its stingray pose.

    Fucking ugly Ferrari.
