My mk1 skoda octavia vrs has a big puddle of water in the front and rear driver's side footwells. It's got a lot worse over this last week whilst it's just been sat in the street parked up. The internet says the scuttle's likely blocked with leaves and water's getting in through holes for loom and bonnet catch.
I have no idea how to sort this. What a bollox.

Unblock all the drains for everything.
Take the carpets out and dry them
mop up all the water
hire or borrow a dehumidifier
Check your heater hoses aren't leaking. -

All models apparently. Dude positions painted parts then takes photo and stitches together in PS.

Check your heater hoses aren't leaking. Thanks, I'll break out the Haynes manual and have a look. I'm not good at car stuff. Computers, bikes etc are fine. Tons of steel that might kill me or other people, not so much...

Oh no :( I may take you up on the dehumidifier (presumably that's what it is, the last thing I need is more humidity in there). I am indeed in east london.
Cheers!

Oooo, I love Ferrari BBs. The classic archetype of what a supercar should look like. Pity they've ruined that one with those awful rear wheel arch extensions. Makes it look like a stunningly beautiful woman with incongruously large hips.
I'd still rather have a 288 GTO.

This is more or less an unspoken suffix to any car comment made since its launch.

i'd be mad, wouldn't I? you can get new panels in aus as they made a ute version until the 80s but 700-odd kgs, lego to work on and MY FIRST CAR.
hypothetically, any one know what a full body resto would cost, assuming it is all fucked? i know it wouldn't be cheap, but it isn't an e-type.
i am seriously considering it as the fucker with the zetec doesn't want to sell it now...

This will have to do until I can get a roof rack...
Fun and Games.

i would be so worried about the head wind hitting that wheel sideways at whatever clip you're going at.
-
• #18670
Yeah, that said I think a roof mount would potentially cause more drag? (Done 70+ as is)
-
• #18671
From on the Guy Martin show, I recall the flat surface with a gap between it and the main body had the largest drag zone..

I'm doing it wrong? :-)
A lot of peeps on tinterweb saying roof racks put mpg up moar.
(Bit like the truck cab)

Put the wheels inside the car.
-
• #18674

Yeah, so does driving with the window open. Or strapped to the rear.
How much is the bike worth? I'd stick it in the car.
If you buy one that's had a couple of "choice mods" done, the floaty steering feel can be eliminated. The steering weight loads up nicely in the corners and if the lower control arm bushes have been replaced or upgraded it really tightens the front end up (fnar fnar etc.)
