  • But yours is rhd, no?

  • There's a trend here whereby folk put European plates beneath US ones to infer that the car is an import or 'Euro-spec'.

  • Ha, Those German 'scene' plates are such a cliche. What's the point? I drive a German car but would rather have UK style plates on it, though I do like those little surrounds you can get from Germany.

I had some on my Pug. The original plates needed changing due to a large crack so I decided to look for some legal metal embossed plates, sadly I couldn't find anywhere that sold them so I bought the euro style plates. After 6 months of ownership these was a large dent on the front plate caused by a stone, a plastic plate would have been knackered. I was never once pulled over for them and the police didn't mention them when they checked over the car in the crash that killed it.

  • I had fully-legal pressed metal plates on my Merc. They were briefly available from the dealership. Tough, and looked great. Downside was that they cost £65 a pair.

  • £65 for something that'll last the lifetime of the car is worth it though

  • Indeed.

  • unless in my case where the double sided sticky pads failed and the numberplate found a new home in the gutter somewhere between greenwich and leytonstone.

black and silver pressed plates are reasonably priced on the bay. £12 including postage

my understanding on the plate colours were that if the plate was cherished/ageless/dateless call it what you will, then it wouldnt matter. one thing i do know is you can't transfer a registration plate with a year letter to an older car that would make it look younger than it really is.

    sorry if i missed something.

  • I find that disc brake caliper mounting bolts hold a number plate on very efficiently.

  • Sadly it's related to age of car not the year the registration number was first introduced.

Also sadly I didn't get my car sorted out in time, £99 down the drain and a good weather winter track day wasted. Disappoint.

  • 10.15@132.4 with 1.47 60ft. absolutely over the moon. car went dead straight and strong.

Am loving these updates! But it is like a new language to me. Get the headline but what do the second two stats refer to?
    Cheers

  • I'm going to guess that it took him 1.47 seconds to pass the 60 foot mark- which (if I am correct) indicates both how fast he reacted to the lights and how much traction his car found off the line.

  • zackly

  • Meanwhile, down at the supermarket; Do you have a Grey Poupon?

  • Nice hashtag :-)

  • What a ridiculous pic. Good work.

If it was white with black Einkei's I would have shagged it.

    Yummy.

  • Have a Daytona Shooting Brake.

  • Like this....? :D

  • Liberty Walk. ~~ Not the one I'm thinking of. ~~ Precisely.

    Spread em.

  • Chris Evans? He loves a white Ferrari.

  • WTF have they done to the rear of that F50.

  • Have a Daytona Shooting Brake.

This looks suitably like a space ship, I like it.

  • Brake lines weren't leaking. I'd just done a monumentally bad job of bleeding the brakes. Wasted trackday for nothing.

  • been there
