  • Serious question, Mk1 Golf GTI or 205 GTI (1.9)?

No debate as far as I'm concerned!

  • A work of art.

  • My brother in law owns a singer I think, old school 911 - he lives in cal

This is the difference between Ferrari and Porsche. No-one thinks Porsche owners are cunts, but they know that 'Rarri owners are.

  • I'm driven all manner of super cars and classics 355, 911 RSR Lightweight, Stratos and my 1981 Mk1 Gti was more fun than any of them.

  • Exactly how I feel about my M3.

  • Not on the list I've driven, although I have had a go in a E36 one. Not the same I'm sure much like comparing a mk2 to the mk1 golf.

  • I've driven most incarnations of the M3 and the earliest two are the best.

Now it's all about being in an expensive leather box and power.

  • @bodie my brother in law is a cunt!

  • Various flavours of porn for auction:

    Pick a favourite!

  • Serious question, Mk1 Golf GTI or 205 GTI (1.9)?

Not even a question, 205 GTi easy. That's if driving is a priority. I would have a clean example of either though. Can't really go wrong.

  • I'd go 205 GTi, that was the one I wanted when they were new.

There's a story there. Stratos first pls.

  • I'd go 205 GTi, that was the one I wanted when they were new.

I'd rather have an unmolested R5 Turbo.

  • Hmm, still the 205.

The Golf GTi was driven by hoorey Henry's, and the R5 Turbo was wannabe Gordon Gecko's who couldn't afford the 911 Turbo.

The 205 was the only one that you could imagine parked under a tree near La Sarthe with a tent next to it, it's somehow more personable.

  • Hang on, Lynx will be along in a minute. He'll tell us where we're all going wrong.

  • He has owned all of those cars it is true, including all the rare homologation models.

  • I wonder if he's ever owned an RS200?

  • He used to restore cars for Elvis, Lord Lucan and Jimmy Saville.

  • I heard he did a coach built horse box for Shergar.

  • He was Enzo's right hand man.

  • If I didn't know better I'd say that you guys were being sarcastic and were not grateful to benefit from lynx's knowledge and cough experience.

  • Ha

  • Golf, FWIW

  • I really fancy a GTi.

  • Anyone want to help me respray my bootlid?
