I've seen some ridiculous turbo bikes at Santa Pod, I dread to think of power to weight on those!
Mmccarthy, I don't know I may be wrong. When I say underpowered it doesn't mean a lack of power, it means underpowered for the chassis/what it can handle. My classic Mini is underpowered at 63 bhp, but I've driven a 150 bhp Mini and that's spot on. Do you get what I mean?

Yeah I agree with you on that, but to be fair, Caterhams/Lotuses...Lotii, aren't really intended for the straights, the best part of them is the cornering speeds and chuckability of the things, but I guess when you get out of a corner going the same speed as a touring car and then floor it and you've got 160bhp, it would feel a little disappointing

Just to say I am fine with VB changing the title of this thread.
Can my Naked Sailor thread please be changed to something less misleadingly homo-erotic? I only meant it to be a patriotic tribute to our fine fighting men. -

i know this is a car thread, but dont even try competing with bikes on the power to weight
this thing has 500hp and weighs just over 215kilos. thats 2000+hp per ton BUYAAAAAAAI ride a bike, I know the power/weight ratios are very different on bikes, Im specifically talking about cars this time, bikes are a totally different kettle of fish :]

i wasnt talking about drag bikes, i just didnt find a good picture, but people tune those Haybusas to 500hp as road bikes (which corner plenty well).
Oh and this, might look like a toy car, but apparently has 1005hp twin turbo v8, weighs feckall and does 0-60 in 1.67seconds upto something ridicolous as 270mph.
Anyone has any more information on this car? (Brabus TKR) -

Anyone has any more information on this car? (Brabus TKR)Barabus officially unveiled the TKR: a new 1005 horsepower supercar the automaker says is capable of doing zero to 60 mph in 1.67 seconds. What’s more, the car reportedly has a top speed of 270 mph — nearly 20 more than the Veyron. Power comes from a 6.0 liter V8 twin-turbocharged with dual intercoolers. The car has a full carbon fibre body and chassis. Further details remain sparse, but the automaker says it will sell the car for £360,000, which should translate to around $500,000, using typical automotive market conversion rates.
It’s worth noting that Barabus sometimes refers to the car as being able to hit 60 mph in “under 2 seconds,” rather than the stated 1.67. Even so, there is still some doubt among enthusiasts if such a figure is even possible. The TKR is said to have been in development for the last 10 years. The car is to be made in Italy and the power plant is built in the United Kingdom. Worldwide volume is projected to be 300-400 cars over the estimated three-year production run.

Barabus Sportscars, a specialty engine and vehicle manufacturer, has created one of the most powerful super cars available. The engine is designed and built by Barabus and incorporates modern racing motor technology and engineering. Based on a V8 all aluminum block re-engineered by Barabus, the twin turbo dual intercooler engine generates 1005 horsepower at 6800 rpm; redlining at 7500 rpm.
According to Barabus, the TKR is capable of 270 miles per hour and 0-60 mph time of 1.67 s.
The styling was clearly inspired by other super cars, especially the Saleen S7 TT (front) and the Pagani Zonda (back).
The car is to be made in Italy and the power plant is built in the United Kingdom. While the TKR is a true Italian supercar, the vehicle itself reflects a "best-in-practice" philosophy, where Barabus has incorporated superior components from around the globe in order to manufacture the best vehicle possible. The TKR utilizes ceramic brakes as well as numerous high technology pieces from companies located in Italy.

the back of a fridge isn't cool, that's where the heat that it sucks out of the inside bit gets transferred out to the room. fridge-backs are kind of warm.
it is one of the ugliest engines i have ever seen.

now you can own your Lambo "Ed Hardy" style....
The edo LP 710 carries some fancy interior design work in leather and hand-stitched artwork recognizable to those in-the-know as Audigier. The driver's seat features a flaming skull design and the Audigier name stitched into the leather, and everything from interior panels to fully leather-trimmed dash carry similar fancy touches. The Murcielago, already looking like an implement of death in its own right, is the perfect car for this transformation.
The LP 710 Audigier will not appeal to many of Lamborghini's buyers, as its tattoo inspired designs are a bit of a stretch for the brand image. But edo will certainly have no problem selling the limited 5 units of the latest designer supercar, despite a base price of more than $690,000. That'll net you two stock Murcielagos, but no flaming skulls. Murcielago Audigier buyers will have the option to select from several of Christian's designs, ensuring their run-of-5 Lambo Audigier car is truly unique.

Well it's fine for fetishists =P
