13s kill the handling. Stick to 12s, 10s are even better but you need to do a brake conversion.

+1. I had a Cooper Sportspack and it tramlined like a bastard. 10's are ultimate for looks. Getting tyres for them is a bit limited though.

The finned drums are wank. No better than normal drums, they just look nicer.

Ha. I just bought two new calipers for the green dragon - 60 squids. Pretty lucky that the standard set up is up to it, really. A new wilwood set is about a grand!

Maybe if you drive like a granny. Drove my friend's Mini with finned drums and the brakes overheated just as quickly as my other friend's Mini with normal drums. Drums on the front on any car are useless if you actually want to make any decent progress.

Thats a later 3 series with the later door trim and wheel trim instead of the steel wheels with centre cap. These were the earlier steel wheels plainted black instead of silver.

Hmmm. Now got a persistent engine oil leak. Either from the sump or even worse from the rear main. Need to get it on ramps and have a look. Both are a fucking total pain, even the sump probably needs the engine jacking up as there's not enough clearance between it and the k-member to change it in situ. Pretty fucking fed up.

No. Hence why they were used on Works cars.
