Ok sorry for this but this is how anal I am with things.
5k for a bit of metal bashing, painting and stuff. Yeah I know overheads and time. But having done cars to sell and cars to keep I have a real issue with stopping at doing whats needed. When younger I would put a patch straight on to rust metal. Minimal cleaning. But as I got better I liked getting pretty welds, even though no one would see them. Have rewelded bits as I dont like the welded join being to high or too low. Also I don't like using filler to disguise as to me I might as well as bodged it. That's why I love gas and tig to get nice pretty welds with penetration all the way though. Then I look at other bits like the suspension and end up dismantling that to paint it. Or just clean it up with wire brush attachment then paint it all with hammerite usually. Even got an old workplace to get an endoscope so I could look on the inside of boxsections to make sure I had penetration in the joins.
Thats not normal is it? Both MX got that treatment but that was because of a bit of overspray and I wanted to get alot of money for the cars. But think I would have done better to do the work quickly and sell than do more work and the extra money from selling the car is pointless as I spent so much time and mental effort on it.
Flip side I did a fulvia, complete strip and rebuild and all the suspension bits were blasted and then stove enameled. Had access to a blast cabinet at work. The when the car was completed I'd sold it as I was never happy or satisfied with it. There was always something that niggled. Like scratching the inside of the boot, getting greasy finger marks on the steering wheel. So it got sold as it was more stress than pleasure. That is odd.

Just remembered I saw an NSX yesterday. Ferry Lane Retail Park, Tottenham Hale. VTec hadn't quite kicked in. Disappoint.

Argh...leave no papertrail dude. Rule number one.
Oh and don't save all invoices in the same place, that way you can kid yourself that you've not really spent that much....

I saw the McLaren sales guys taking some snaps for their website on a 61 plate MP12-4C.
The bloke told me it was already second hand.
FML.
He also informed me that this wasn't unusual. Last week he'd seen a 3 year old Ferrari that had already had 12 registered keepers.
We're living in an insane world.

When I lived on Bryanstone Square a chap had a 360 delivered, it sat in the car park for ~8 months, and then left on a trailor to be replaced by an M5.
I spoke to the owner (I used to go down to smoke in the garage) and he said he'd just never found the time to drive the 360, but that he hoped to take the BMW out "at least a couple of times".

Sorry big man, visiting me mam tomorrow.
Still haven't used the car BTW. It's starting to have things left on the roof as there no space in the garage.
