is it going to be £2k to insure, though?

sorry about passing on the drive, today, btw. the best day of the year and i am bailed up inside.

No worries mate.
That's the T5- insurance group 16 versus the 850R's group 19, so cheaper than my car.

Did you guys see the Pikes Peak crash/falling off the side of the mountain?

Also, we had a fire during practice at the qualifying.
Here's a good way of wasting 8 mins...

Apple Logies for banal car question in here but it seems to be the most active car thread and you've all been very kind in the past!
I need to get the cat-less mid-pipe mod off of my Scooby Forester and replace it with the legal stock one (which I have in my closet) before i move to sweden as they seem to be much stricter over there about emissions and modding cars.. its due an MOT soon and I'm better getting the pipe switch done before moving over there and getting it MOT'd and registered. I also want to swap out the midpipe just now to allow the cat to settle back in as I gather it takes a few weeks for it to return to optimum emission absorption.
This shouldn't be a big job, and all I need are the gaskets i think... Anyone here recommend a garage or freelance mechanic near N16 that would do it and how much you reckon folk would charge? There's a dealer in Woodford but I suspect they might try and hump me dry.

If there are flanges to swap the mid/cat then it should be a very quick and easy job - find your nearest exhaust shop and get them to do it - don't even consider Subaru dealers
-
• #11987
or do it yourself? A hammer will be useful.
-
• #11988
A blowtorch would also come in handy
-
• #11989
ha. Sure I could do it but with my shitty jack and doing it on a shitty Hackney street I'd squash myself or have the yoof assist in the process...
on danb's advice I took it to the tyre shop at the end of the street and asked if they would do it and they were very obliging, midpipe already out and just waiting for the gaskets to be delivered-should get it back by 6 and hopefully won't be too steep...
Also got a good look under my motor when it was up on the lift which was interesting-looking pretty good for 12 years old!

Actually the Disco is back and it has got a digital read-out so not so sure why it's not in there.
More importantly the much coveted Honda Prelude MK4 is not on there either which is one of the more well known digi-dialled cars.

America fucking loves digi-dashes. I've always thought the HUD in the Vette is entirely unnecessary but also entirely awesome.
