I've never heard such shit in my life...'cycling' isn't against anything...it's a sport!
If you're personally against cars then that's your call...but don't try to speak on behalf of cyclists as a whole...i've been cycling for 28 years and never driven a car and i'm not 'against' this thread.
If cycling has proved anything to me over the years it's that it's something that can be done by anyone...regardless of their other hobbies or what they did previously.
And if this forum has proved anything it's that the people on here are able to get along just fine in the real world...regardless of their other hobbies or what they did previously...it's only when they're hidden behind a keyboard that the problems start.
I'm a cyclist and will be till the day i die....but i'm also an individual who will continue to make his own decisions about everything....so don't try and speak for me by spouting your bullshit about what cycling is 'against'.
If you find it that offensive there's plenty of other things to read about on here.....photography, cakes, celebrity lookalikes....even BIKES.

Someone told me this on one of the rides, and the more I think about it, the more it becomes obvious, there are 5,000 or so members here, and a relatively tiny amount frequently take part in the group meet ups, the keyboard warriors are very likely to be those that don't, because as others have said, they're hiding, anonymous, if they were meeting up with other members of the forum regularly, they'd have extra incentive to be civil on the forum.

Texas, I was riding with you on Saturdays GSIAD. On Sunday eve I watched Top Gear before I rode down to the Christmas Party. It doesn't make me a bad person! :)

No, no, it's way too much work. You can have every rider primed, psyched, trained up, fired up, bulging eyeballs, raring to go ...and then just call off the race in one fell swoop, anyway. As demonstrations of power go, it's devastatingly effective. If you do all the riders as one job lot, it robs them of their individuality, as well. No more poncey single-start riding. Race of Truth? I still think looking at each rider in the eye, seeing their sense of hope, seeing their fear and then confirming their fear, perhaps even being close enough to hear the sobbing start is much more satisfying. It's a more personal hatred you develop in the riders as well, the darkness is made all the more real as they repeat your words and disinterested stare over and over and over again on their solemn ride home... ahh... happy days.
