How is your car 20? From the mods?
-

If we are going for legendary engines in general then we ought to add 4 cylinders too and include the BMC A series, the Alfa twin cam, the VW flat 4, maybe the scooby flat 4, the Ford crossflow and the Lotus Twin Cam
+1 for all of the above.
I'd also add Cosworth YB engine into the mix and Nissan RB26 and Toyota 1JZ for their ridiculous tuning potential.

It's group 20 bone stock, as it rolled off the production line, let alone with the work done to it.

what about Tatra's aircooled V8? not widely produced but was an interesting approach at the very least
-
• #11631
If we are going for "engines we think are cool" then the list is going to get very long indeed
-
• #11632
Same with 6 cylinders.
After the Jaguar XK, BMW 2.5, Porsche flat 6 and Alfa V6 the rest are also-ransTrudat.
I did mention the Porsche 6 up there somewhere.

Jag straight 6 surely also?
Engines that have won stuff?
Surely Subaru's 4cyl boxer has to be mentioned?
Pay attention gentlemen...

Sounding like a fucking jet ;)
Definitly an interesting engine used in the cars and trucks.

They are awesome, same engine as the pug 1.9 they even put the 16v one in and that was shared with the 406.
Also loved the michellin MXV tyre.
Nope, the 16V was in the 405 aka the Mi16.

Thats a MK1 wasn't there a MK2 rally/race car?
There was a 4x4 ice racing car built from the mechanicals and suspension from the BX mounted in to a ZX. That always got the idea of building the citroen suspension in to other things.

There was a 2 door group B which I think had the mk2 indicators, etc.
I believe it got rebuilt into a 405 when that was launched. -

^ this. Group B was banned just as Citroen got going in the class. Redeveloped into the 405 which was the Dakkar car.
There was a ZX Maxi
Not seen it racing though
There is also the Dimma still available
You have to put it on yourself or pay a bodyshop to do it now though. Dimma have closed their own bodyshop iirc

The Internet is failing to back up my recollection.

Remember a 2 door bx, which I thought was a MK2 (big indicator)

The trouble with any of those Japanese lunatic machines is that it's a nightmare finding one that hasn't either been taken to hell and back by some pimply oik, or re-mapped to produce 1000bhp, or doesn't come in some kind of stomach bile colour.
If those cars were the only choice, I'd either go for an R34 Skyline, or a two-door WRX Impreza.

Busy day yesterday...
I picked up the new care yesterday from the west country. Bought a Disco 4 3.0TDV6.
245bhp/443lb/ft. Will be chipping which will raise to 295bhp/520lb/ft. It will stay completely std apart from that as is still under manu warranty for a few months and this has been extended by a further 2 years.
I drove 60 miles back yesterday and I didn't see the petrol gauge move. In fact when I got it had a quarter of a tank and my immediate thought was 'shoot, better get some fuel', then looked at the trip and it had almost 200 miles left in there! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO COPE WITH THIS! ;)
Have some side steps I need to install (being a short ass) and I have to cut the sills to fit them. This seems to be std and I think there may be markings where those cuts need to be made, so no biggy.
Anyway I have now officially reached middle aged ness.

A disco?
Free pair of Cunter wellies seal the deal?
-
• #11647
Boggo discos are great off roaders. Good purchase minky. We almost rolled one, had to get pulled out by a pink behemoth of a RRC.
Bimmer art cars were amazing, I think I've convinced Richie to get an MX5 too.

I'll consider this a blip in an otherwise unblemished career, Jon. Seriously though, congrats. At least you bought a proper off-roader.

Evo ii if you want to be serious, but then B&D's issue becomes even more prevalent.
I know too many snotty kids who can afford insurance more expensive than their 2 door R32 cost to buy, they fuck the turbo trying to drift then sell it on to unsuspecting idiots. Gone are the days of bargain jap super cars, if you want unmolested or safely tuned, there's a premium. The bottom ends are usually ok, it's the turbos that have been caned. Fucked seals, heat damage, cars haven't been warmed up or down. At least in the early 2000s turbo timers were cool, they did more to help jap cars than anything else.

I'd like an NSX.
Out of interest- my car is group 20, if I convert it to run Methanol and strap a Holset onto it would it get significantly more expensive to insure?
