Stag is chestwigtastic -

The red stag is a modded modernisation and to me the front end is spoiled with no grill and the scoop thing.
I always liked this:
Wanted to either stick the engine and box from Y10 turbo in it or a 127 1300gt set up fed by twin solex 40 from a Lancia fulvia.

mercedes estate aaaahhh!
i had one just like that. i kept it for a year until it was stolen. maybe six years ago. the seats were upholstered in fabric and felt like they had one large springs in them.
sad part of my memories with my mercedes are;
shortly before it was stolen i uncovered a plastic bag full of old music cassettes and recordings of myself on pirate radio from way back when. for years it had stayed at the bottom of a cardboard box. driving became a pleasure, cruising along bouncing around on my velour covered spring listening to myself with a high pitched voice. that bag of tapes was probably tossed in a skip or maybe its still there tucked under the seat.dammit your legs might be too long for a mini. you'll develop a bad back and take to walking like john wayne.
if you want to test the water, place a 700c wheel between your legs and walk 20 paces............thats what it will be like everytime you get out of a mini. -

Wanna lend me some money/ garage space?
On a serious note- I decided today that the day I qualify-if I qualify- I'm going to buy a Mini.
A Mini Clubman Gt 1275. Because I particularly like them.The Merc would be fucking brilliant- veg oil all the way.

The 300td ones don't come up that often with that low* a mileage on them.
Also every one that I've seen has been abused a lot more than that...*for that car 130,000 is just starting.

do bear in mind old mercedes estates are routinely stolen and exported to far away lands

Ah rare as in low mileage. We had one that was also beige that came from a local farmer and had done near 300,000 miles. It was cheap and scratched and dented. Had it for a few years as it cost little to run and used it like a van. Had a new interior from the scrap yard.
Remember it burned oil, as I doubt it had had many oil changes and after 8 oil and filter changes with cheap 20/50 oil 6 or 7 liters so two gallon bottles at a time, and I used the formula 1 brand. The oil would go black in a day, but at the end it stopped burning oil and the engine ran better and stopped turn the oil to sludge.
