  • Just read this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/dec/09/poznan-copenhagen-global-warming-targets-climate-change

It's likely to affect the last part of my generation's lives. How do you feel if you're if you're twenty years younger or have children?

Can't get the link to work. bollocks.

  • Looks like the point of no return..

  • still doesn't work. double bollocks.

  • It works if you copy and paste it to the address bar.

  • I'm going to sound like a cunt, but the human population is reaching a point where it's unsustainable and catastrophic climate change will address that issue. It'll be indiscriminate and affect the poorest the most though.

Have you read The Road by Cormac McCarthy? I think that paints a bleak but foreboding view of the future.

  • I fucking hate computers and I really hate that people's well meant advice jusy makes me so fucking angry. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO CUT AND PASTE1 I DON'T KNOW WHAT CHECK THE PROPERTIES OF THE LINK MEANS!
This is ridiculous; in two minutes I have got.... I'm literally shaking with rage now.
    Got to take a break.

    I hear you.

The most annoying is if you manage to perform a task once, but can't do it thereafter.

I have lots of bike stuff I need to sell but I can't even post a photo on here. Ebay? Paypal? Fucking forget it

Ah. One down, three to go.

and thanks for the techno help.

  • Will you have spent too much time in the company of Tynan. 09 all about the cannibalism.

    And I don't need/want any more details.

  • This thread hasn't quite developed in the way I was hoping.

  • as usual, we do rely on tomorrows ... always hoping things will re-arrange for the better.

I totally agree have you tried going shopping in Oxford Street recently? London needs a plague

  • I did this thread about two years ago - it was the original 'mosque thread'

  • "Have you read The Road by Cormac McCarthy? I think that paints a bleak but foreboding view of the future."

i read that last Christmas, was ready for tales of cowboys and mexican chicas dusky thighs but got freaked by the doom and gloom

  • I totally agree have you tried going shopping in Oxford Street recently? London needs a plague

I thought it had one already, judging by the amount of 'black shit' that people seem to be expectorating...

  • I did this thread about two years ago - it was the original 'mosque thread'

Yeh, I did a search. I was hoping this thread would not be a debate about whether or not climate change is real/man made cos that's not really very productive. Wanted to know what people who accept the article's arguments think; especially if you are young or have children. Maybe too personal or depressing though.

  • still doesn't work. double bollocks.

The link has a -> . <- at the end of it.

"The cream of the UK climate science community sat in stunned silence as Anderson pointed out that carbon emissions since 2000 have risen much faster than anyone thought possible, driven mainly by the coal-fuelled economic boom in the developing world. So much extra pollution is being pumped out, he said, that most of the climate targets debated by politicians and campaigners are fanciful at best, and "dangerously misguided" at worst."

  • So this chaps Anderson says that CO2 has massively risen die to coal burning in the developing world. By this I assume he means China. His solution is for the developed world to drastically cut emissions. Wouldn't the more obvious solution be to stop burning coal or am I missing something here? ( I have young children and own a bicycle)
