not long lost as such, i just thought i recognised the name from my years of being a c-zine lurker!
i posted occasionally under the pseudonym '...joe calls so loud', appalling name i'm aware! -

Cool man, well if you come down to the Moloch show I might sing an Eye Hate God cover for them so come say hey after!
-

they're playing on thursday! possibly being persuaded by a friend to go too...
No persuasion should be needed! Solid live band and there's always the chance they'll chuck in a NOFX cover.
-
• #230
ha! my band covered 'it's my job to keep punk rock elite' last practice. I never got into NOFX when I was younger, so i couldn't say how it sounded! - Looks like i'm taking some tickets of a friend to go see The Weakerthans tomorrow though.

Not strictly hardcore
-
• #232
Not listened to it, but judging from the fact the still of the video in shot is someone doing a tapped guitar solo, i'd say its definitely not hardcore.
-
• #233
It borders on hardcore

Awesome Descendents Bikeage shirt!!!

Ha I wouldn't call Antares hardcore, a description of them would require at least one prefix/suffix. Good (and immensely talented) band tho. For good fast hardcore in Leeds I would say Closure. And Mob Rules for the dense Ginnathons.

It borders on it though come on. There isn't a thread for weird mathexperimentalhardcorenoisemetal bands

This is true.

You might have seen Grappler if you've been to any hardcore shows at the Purple Turtle in the last year or so, they've been playing there a fair bit. Just about to release their first proper EP, pretty excited for it.
Also not hardcore really, but the influences are there – http://listn.to/cultcinema – new song played by Daniel P Carter on Radio 1 on Monday, also imminently releasing their first EP. Again, pretty excited – they're absolute beasts live and it sounds just as good on record.

he he. guitar looks to expensive and in tune. using an expensive amp , and more than 3 chords. drummer is not sweating and gurning enough. f word not being used frequently. nobody is shouting "i cant take it anymore". not HC.

No-one knows a Screamo supergroup?! That's kinda like saying 'I dont think anyone will know this band' and then posting a red hot chilli peppers tune!
Hot Cross were ok at their peak. I'm still waiting for a screamo revival!
PG99 reforming soon...
-
• #246
Yeah I'd hardly call Hot Cross obscure! Played a gig with them on one of their last tours. I think I had a good time.
