The Big ride this weekend is for Jonny's 40th. Trafalgar Square 10:30 to Richmond Park and as many laps as you can put in.
Is that Sat or Sun? I hope it's Saturday so we can give the Dynamo some inspiration round RP.

It's Saturday but will arrive at RP too late for the even-snootier-than-grupetto Dynamos

Saturday it is then.
I'll be riding in from Teddington. If anyone else is coming in from that end of town it would be good to hook up for the ride in. -

I have turned into Rob and Guy :)
Exactly! Be careful :P
So you'll be leading yourself out in the TS, Mike, then building up the speed over the next lap before you pull off and leave yourself to finish?
And I'll have you know I am no shirker to training, it has begun.
3x 2hour road rides a week at the moment, and 2x gym. and I was out there riding in the freezing drizzle whilst you lot were writing this!2 hour ride, then 2 hour nap. Win.

LOL.
I was only joking. But I am going to focus on sprint stuff for next year I think mainly. I am the lazy one as you would never catch me out in this cold/drizzle nonsense

now is a good time for conditioning rides though, easy gear. No long slogs though, a-la hippy. track riders do not measure strength in how many miles we can ride during daylight hours.
my road training is a boring necessity, no cake stops or any of that, no fun, just ride out, ride back then stuff myself with protein and carbs

Track riders ride whole miles? Not us sprinters. Not in my day. Blah etc
Anyway RPM you could be throwing in all kinds of technique drills whilst doing these rides so they're not so 'roadie' and boring. You are allowed to elevate your HR ya know? Throw down a high gear hill sprint or two early on in the sesssion where it's supposed to be most beneficial (after warmup of course), do some high cadence low gear stuff, do some high gear low cadence stuff, do some one leg shit.. whatever takes your mind off the fact you actually have to leave the house. Your rollers won't get jealous you know? :P

I'm doing all those things.

• #187
Team sprint, first leg?
I've only done one-legged exercises during training, but if you're that confident you can drop Rob and Guy...
-
• #188
I can generate enough torque with my cock to drop Rob and Guy.

I do hope after all this ramble plurabelle gets to ride out with a club eh?
I recommend SMTRNC (sp?!)
Good experience of riding with a group without actually joining a club :)

You're just not paying attention, Ved. We've done all that. It's all go. The die is cast.

I know it's going back a few pages now, but are many of you still thinking to do the Rubaix? I've just agreed to definitly do it with Brixton Cycles.

Clearly you should drop the Dynamos and join Rollapaluza CC
I'm re-reading this thread fro the start to make sure I don't miss anything, and I've been laughing with admiration at Clive's dogged persistence.
