Really, haven't been paying attention to the FGSS party thread.
Think I'm going to have to miss it as the solstice takes precedent. -

You can do it fixed, but it is very hilly.

I figured geared would make a lot more sense unfortunately I'm lacking in the bike ownership department on that front.

The Bell FTW.
Walberswick is a lovely place and The Bell is certainly the pub to be at if you go there.. I used to stay there occasionally in the summer when I was a kid and go crabbing for hours then have a pub lunch at The Bell.. Magical times
I think that could be a good place for a post Dynamo meal if anyone sticks around long enough to wait for it to open

What kind of suffering was it?
Suffering from having by that point done around 130-140 miles. Hackney-Dunwich 112 miles, then Dunwich-Ipswich around 30 miles. All of it at a good average. My favourite ride of the year, no contest.

Mine too, but I had to ride a considerably shorter distance to get home from Dunwich :P
Did you follow the A12 all the way? If so I can give you the names of a few train stations between Dunwich and Ipswich that go back to Liverpool Street

Cheers, Will, I wouldn't actually want to miss that leg of the ride now. Before the ride got so busy I once went back from Darsham and once took the coach, but I've ridden back to Ipswich ever since. It's by far my favourite option. I don't take the A12 but that very nice route as recommended on the route sheet, via Leiston, Snape, Woodbridge etc. I always really enjoy it. DD FTW!

hippys idea is a good one
we should have a 24hr cycle see who can get the furthest in that time period start at 9pm cycle through the night finish the followowing day at 9pm 300 miles in 24hrs 350 ?
like the old jail breaks we used to do at uni
see who could hitch the furthest without any money24hr record table:

Yeah, that does sound nice and I was going to say that if I were you I'd avoid the A12.. The route you mention probably takes you through my village, Wickham Market.

It doesn't actually. :( It's B1122, A1094, B1069, A1152, B1438, A12, A1214, A1071. Not much traffic around 7-8 in the morning. I've been through WM on other rides, though.
lfgss party day too..
