Agree on Coe, Ravenscroft and Letts. Occasionally I'll dip into Mr Peterson on a Saturday afternoon, usually if I've been at work in the morning, chilled tunes for a lie down on the settee.

I struggle to listen to 6 music when glasturbation is in full swing. It’s kind of like listening to a child go on and on about some new toy they want for their birthday.

For quite some time the 6 music playlist has been available as an updating playlist on Spotify. Good for me as I don't get much time to listen to new stuff, and it's useful to have all my music in one app. Now the BBC has decided to stop updating it, presumably linked to their push on BBC Sounds as a direct competitor to online streaming services. Annoying

BBC Sounds app is an abomination of product and service design.

Yep, it feels like it could be a really good app but when you use it it's just a bit shit.

I caught MA Hobbs interviewing Aldous Harding the other day, a masterclass of radio presenting:

"I remember seeing you play at insert venue name"
"Yes, I remember that"
pauses until the end of time itself
"I remember it too"

Pauline: "it was the seventies, it was a very hostile time for a black woman, at every gig there was a sense that we were doing something different to the other bands."

These examples are making me feel odd as this sounds bang on like my conversational style. Awkward

A career in BBC broadcasting beckons

Having heard "repetition is a form of change" about 2 million times in the last few weeks, I strongly disagree.

I hate the stupid A/B/C list thing. Antithetical the purpose of Radio 6 in my opinion

I really rate Iggy Pop's shows, but the rest of the shows are becoming a bit dire. Cheezy requests, inane interviews, oddly limited playlists.
Still find the occasional gems (When Rhapsody"s Ibtihaj came on the other day I almost spat my cornflakes out)
It has lost its way a bit. What is Tom Ravenscroft on? He used to be really engaging and insightful, now just gushing and fawning. Still the best music station, but could be so much better.

Unlistenable today.

That manic Q & A thing that Marc Riley does is a bit tedious although it can throw up some little gems.

I've established a daily routine of tuning out the chatter and soaking up some tunes to shield me from slow creeping death by uninterrupted Heart FM in the office later.
