  • Yeah she's soporific

  • Up north we had radio city two the amazingly successful station that has been replaced by greatest hits from radio city the amazing successful station 🤮

  • I can't see Mary Anne Hobbs lasting on a daytime slot. It's the wrong vibe IMHO.

I will also miss her saturday am session.
Padding round in my pants, having a slow paced potter with her selection playing was always bless.

And Radcliffe and Maconie can get to fuck.
Banal old white blokes applauding each other farts and braying.

  • Isnt that steve wright ?

  • I can't see Mary Anne Hobbs lasting on a daytime slot. It's the wrong vibe IMHO.

Totally agree. Wonder if we'll get Chris Hawkins moved into her place in future?

Bit weird having someone a little chirpier in the mornings, but think Keaveny will be good in the late-lunch slot.

  • Sunday hasn't been the same since Jarvis left :'|

  • Yep, really enjoyed his show.

I'm drifting away from 6 music these days. Especially since I replaced the DAB radio in my kitchen for an Echo Dot that I can play spotify through.

  • Struggled with LL this morning - I was a Keaveny addict and he made my commute bearable.

  • +1 Going to miss MAH on weekend mornings as well.

  • So miss miserable Keaveny. Mirrored my exact mood whilst getting up in the morning.

  • Am struggling a bit with Keaveny in the PM but Lauren this morning was OK and I could listen to Mary-Anne all day everyday with no complaints.

  • I used to listen to Keaveny in the mornings and enjoyed it but when I was in different timezones and it wasn't the morning show I found it a bit hard work. Will have to see how the new times pan out.

  • Evenings for me. As long as Gideon Coe is on 9pm to midnight I'm happy. I like Mark Riley, Don Letts and Tom Robinson too. Iggy Pop is good too but never seem to catch his shows.

  • Haven't got on board with the new schedule yet

  • My 2pm-4pm weekday listening pleasure has been ruined.

'Guess the noise'? What the fuck? It's like a local radio show...

  • I find Chris Hawkings really stressful to listen to - constantly tripping over his words and stumbling through sentences.

  • Try his jukebox on BBC Sounds app, its Hawkins but without the chatter. Just music and the occasional advert for someone else’s show.

  • I don’t like his music selections either to be honest. I only put 6music on when I just want to press a button and hear some nice noises without having to make a decision about what to listen to.

  • I quite like Lauren Laverne, though thought Keaveney was good in the morning slot. Mary-Anne Hobbs, however, stirs a passionate hatred in me. So fey, boring and monotone. Particularly hate when she does that little fake laugh when she thinks she's said something funny - she's never said anything funny.

She's as vapid as Lamacq - Christ, I hate Lamacq.

  • Totally agree with the above re. Hobbs. She never shuts up about music taking you on a spiritual journey, it's pretentious as fuck. I considered basing a drinking game on her constant cliches but realised everyone would be pissed within 30 mins.

  • Quite like MAH. Detest Lamacq. Not comparable in my view. Only person worse than Lamacq is Wiley and I never come across her any more.

  • I don't mind Lauren Laverne but she's not winning me over with the breakfast show. It's the one time of the day when I want a bit of chat and stuff and the show mainly seems to be music.

  • Completely understand about MAH.
She would wind me up too if she didn't consistently deliver on music and other cultural stuff.

What she plays and brings to her shows is so consistently in the pocket for me that I can 'low it.

If she compromisesnon that for a daytime audience then yeah, the affected delivery and fey giggles grate.

  • This. All of this. With knobs on.

  • The new BBC sounds thing that comes up when listening live online is so shit. I can't see what the name of the current track is. Part of the Joy of 6 (fnar) is finding new stuff and I want to write down and look up new stuff as it plays.
