@eyebrows , ive just noticed your Autumn Training thread and would love to give it a go. would you consider doing a West London jaunt? i mention this cos everything seems to happen SE or NE London.

This is my local circuit, never trained or raced before but I've ridden the track and i'd like to have a go. Whats involved?

@hypercolour Hillingdon circuit is open to try out at quiet times like early morning and week days, they have a few local clubs like Willesden do evening sessions there. I usually ride my track bike there to keep my training up. let me know if you are up for a training session sometime, im only down the road in Hanwell.

Thanks for the info. I was actually thinking it would be cool to take my track bike there. Do many people ride track bikes on this circuit?

This is a great chance to get 3 more points this year, that I need for the cat 2. Hopefully be there soon-ish.

@hypercolour Ive never seen a track bike on the circuit, but still its a good course with a couple of tight bends, slight uphill/downhill section and the surface is perfectly smooth. I am on there fixed a few times per week and try not to get over taken by the roadies!
I will give the winter series a go once i sort out getting a decent road bike and try for the cat 4.

I've ridden a track bike there quite a few times in the past (just training not with others) - it's perfectly doable whilst also offering a bit of a challenge due to the small climbs.

Raced a fixed gear bike crit a few years ago in Hillingdon. With 165mm cranks you can lean in to corners pretty easily. There was a few crashes, but mainly because people weren't holding their lines. Someone should organise another one soon.

Tokyo fixed organised the last one called The Hunt in 2012, there are so few fixed gear crits in the uk that if one was organised it would work. @dimi3 want to work on making one happen in the summer?

I'd be more interested in racing, but might as well do both.
