Yeah I remember Obree talking about getting his foot as close as possible to the pedal in his book or one of his talks.
I wonder how accurate their claims are...

I want them now - can you get aero skewers in the UK? Didn't mdcc_tester make some?

Castelli Sanremo 3.0
Comfy and fast apparently. Want one.
This seems to be a cheaper alternative to the Castelli ones.

I'm kinda taken by the idea of an all-in-one. I already look a twat. So nothing to lose there.

I tried on a Castelli San Remo with a mind to using it during the 24 a couple of years ago. It was lovely. £200 though so I was basically to scared to actually use it!

Its not bad when compared to the price of a pair of body Paint bibs, and an aero jersey. So fair play to castelli. But thats exactly why I was looking at Verge.
They now do the velosissmo (or something) one for cheaps. But the pad them is proper annoying.
Probably too late for me to get one for Trondheim - Oslo anyway. But I'd be up for a Group buy from Verge for the Carrera suit. Think its a 3 piece minimum. Not bothered about colour.

What is the expected time difference over a 25m TT between a well fitted jersey/bib combo and an well fitted skinsuit?

"These numbers are calculated for a rider over 40kms at a time of 48minutes. Faster than most of us could go!"

Cheers.
I'm currently zeroaero (on the hoods of a road bike, 32 spoke wheels, badly pinned number, mouth breathing mofo). So there's some gains to make I think.

Castelli quote many watts at 40kph.
That'll be best case though. Plus the attraction lies in comfort more than anything.
Its appears you can pre-order the Carrera from Verge.
My inseam is an XS
My Waist a M
My chest a XL.Piss. Says order based on upper body. But I'm tempted to risk a medium. Merkins innit.

No the 'attraction' of a skinsuit is most definitely speed. No one wears them because they are comfortable.

Here's another estimate:
"It is estimated a close fitting skinsuit can save 3.2% of your total energy. [1] This equates to 29 seconds in a 40 km time Trial."

Better braking and faster with less side force...

http://cyclinginfo.co.uk/products/clothes/time-trial-skinsuits/index.htmlWell I was thinking for a 24 hour ride. So pretty slow negating a lot of the aero effect. But for a very long time so possibly still Worth while.
Too late now anyway.

Doesnt look any more aero than other road helmets.
I'll admitt to looking a twat in my Air-attack. But the visor does mean I can descend without my eyes watering. Which is Nice.

That's the funny/annoying thing about aero - looks don't mean shit.
Stop. Tunnel time. Dun nun nun nun na naaa naaa

Claiming it to be faster than the Evade.

£200 ffs
-

Giro stuff ends up pretty highly discounted, but yeah £200 for a lid is stupid.
-

Especially with Giro build quality. Its not the best made lid out there.
That's probably down to personal preference or what he can get hold of.
