went home early (southwark park) you guys in the splinter pack were booting it down the road and i got left behind at traffic lights (so much for the turbo boost) with front tyre going down slowly. should have changed inner when i had a chance. d'oh!

if we go on that route again i'm tying a broom to the front of my bike.

looking at that list, mine appear under the 'puncture resistant' section which would be borne out by my only previous puncture being caused by hitting a curb while avoiding a van. I doubt any amount of puncture resistance would have helped with the 4 inch nail that caused the second of my hat trick.
Vindicates my normal policy of not going south of the river though, anyone would think that tarmac hadn't been invented the amount of cobbled streets over there.

Mack, cheers for a good ride. Was a great laugh. Sorry we had to chip off but had to go ice skating at 3.30 (it was really good fun, more dangerouse than riding in London, fucking kids). Anyway, on the puncher front, we went to a pub in west london and I noticed that Sarah had a puncher. What the fuck!!!! WHat was wrong with tires yesterday! Changed it easy enough but then left my allen keys on the window sill of the pub with trying to fix her brakes (she may as well have been running a brakeless freewheel). Good day all in all though. Once again thanks for making her feel welcome. She had a good time and is now one step closer to getting that fixed.

On that subject i brought along pliers & removed, on 3 separate occasions tiny arrow shaped stones from peoples tyres, no amount of Psi or quantity of new tyre would have save the unlucky minority. Fashioned by tiny tiny stone age men south of the river i suspect.

While I had the tyre off, I set to picking out all the glass and and stones stuck in the rubber. Only one of them got through the anti puncture layer. I think I got the Conti Gatorskins from the good factory.

Unfortunately - my wheel now looks like Mickey Rourke's face.

that greenich/woolich path is pretty knarly on any tyre, but 19 punctures? fackinell!
