the general insight is that the wheelset seemed like a decent buy, go for it, no one has yet to complain about the wheels that came with the bike.

i have seen a set off a bike and they are very heavy.
rim join is poor too.

my mate had some on his plug racer, they had a variable width, i.e one side was true, the other side was wobbly as fuck.....

and its 2 - 1 this is getting sweaty....

Arup is a don wheelbuilder - fast, reliable and affordable; and a damned nice chap to boot. I ended up paying *less *than he originally quoted because he sourced some cheaper double-butted spokes than he's previously used. He lives in Sydenham, so perfect for any sarf east riders.

2 x CXP33 on Formula - £150 inc build. An obvious choice but solid as fuck.

Oh, and having wheels built rather than off the peg means you get more choice over spoke pattern.

If we are talking cheap rims and formula hubs I bought a set from Webbline for £100 that may be equivalent to the Charge wheelset (assuming the rims are cheap/unknown)
And as stated above, I got to choose lacing (radial on the front)

Possibly lighter too, as the Kinlin XR-300 rims are some of the lightest 30mm deep rims around.

I know I have, got it tightened at a shop and after a few skids at Trixie, it started moving again. Did a rota+hammer job on it but if it slips again I may upgrade..

Im interested in these two, not 100% sure color im after though. its between black, silver and white. Im thinking silver but they don't seem to have them....

Same thing's happened to me, it's bullshit. Makes skidding and hill climbing an extreme sport. I'm upping to Goldtec Hubs for my next rear. Going to be a load nicer.

KinLin rims are distributed now in the UK as Halo. I think by Chicken Cycles or one of the big distributors. They're not cheap but basically the dogs bollocks by all accounts.

and I assumed you use a proper lockring tools? because honestly it's down to the user since it shouldn't slip if it tighten properly (both cog and lockring), that or you use the wrong chainwipe that not designed for 1/8th chain.

With that much torque, I dont think loctite would make any difference. Do you have enough spare thread for a second lock ring? that would solve it for sure.

edit: Probably to do with poor tilerances on the threads if theyre cheaper hubs...

also, maybe to do with the choice of lockring and or sprocket, not butting up against each other properly, from what I gather, thats not the place to save money. I heard someone else on here say their sprocket kept slipping, then they forked out for a better quality lockring and it was fine after that.

that make sense, I have use the same Surly lockring ever since I first got into fixed wheel, never slipped at all, expect for the time when I didn't tighten the lockring properly and the cog managed to shredded the hubs sadly (but fortunately the lockring survived).

cost me £12, but worth it for better quality.

^^Probably should spend on a new sprocket plus lockring then.
I'm guessing the forumla hubs have a standard thread size? Being..?
