  • I don't know if I got a special deal or if it was a mistake but when I went to the Decathlon in Surrey Quays to get these tyres they were listed at, if memory serves, £18 each. When I paid for them the girl on the till asked me for £30. I wasn't going to contest it so kept my own counsel.

Jeez Andy, you've been out of the game too long.
    Clearly you'd pulled there...

  • oakleys are a great product but the punters who wear them... same with cervelo.. brand destruction by 40something cat4 crit guys who take it all a bit tooo seriously..

  • So where are people riding tomorrow for their early morning winter training? I'm new to London ( coupld o'months) and I'm still trying to find places to go for different qualities. I'm halfway between Camden and Islington. I've noticed a fair few people doing laps of Regents Park. Presumably that'd be their easy going training.

Bollocks to Cervelo - no heritage.
Wilier Cento FTW you jealous ageist...

  • Le Tour won on a 'no heritage' canadian (via taiwan) bike this year... however think you've missed the point... I don't own these brands for the reason listed above..
the wilier probably came out of the neighbouring carbon shop in taiwan... unless you buy something like a colnago master x-lite, heritage means little with plastic bikes

Fuck heritage, embrace performance. Cervelo FTW!

The famous Richmond Park is London's famous London's famous training loop for the famous London's famous London's famous roadies (and now RPM's trackie crew).

Personally I fucking avoid it.. does my head in.. but it's close and I don't get lost going there unlike riding in the Chilterns.

  • I'm always missing the point tbh.

  • Fuck heritage

You can take the boy out of Australia...

  • Racist.

I'm gonna sick Ned Kelly on your arse.

  • Well i was planning on doing a nice ride y'day, finding some new places and having my first proper ride on my fixed bike. Then...

... I decided to do some late mechanics on my bike at around midnight saturday. This proved to be a mistake as I am now having to type one handed! I managed, somehow to get the index finger of my left hand dragged into the back cog by the chain. It only went halfway round, so i had to push the pedals to get my finger out again.
After many hours in A&E, followed by surgery later the same day (meaning we got to go home for about 4 hours sleep). I sat around for 7 hours until they finally operated on my finger. They had to remove both bits of the nail that the cog had gone straight through, clean all of the oil out of the wound, then stitch it all together again. The stitches are holding the bone together, seeing as i broke the end of the finger off as well.

So that's me out for a while.

  • ouch!

  • Shit, that doesnt sound fun at all... I await someone posting "that" picture.

  • Another ironic avatar moment also... sorry to make light.

  • happens all the time

  • Not yours Murtle, I meant Lurkers... but yours also I guess!

  • ha, silly me :)

  • Oof! Bad luck. Almost did that a year or so ago while cleaning the bike.

By the way folks, very cold start to the day on the cards tomorrow. Ride safe!

  • Your avatar is quite apt then...

  • I'll try to sort out a decent pic when I get the bandages off for my check up, then I too will have an appropriate avatar.
