  • Selling a Dolan Pre-cursa, 56cm, white, good condition, scratches and a bit dirty but nothing structural and still looks dead nice. It's got a matchy white full carbon fork and headset with integrated very smooth headset, carbon expander for the fork included as well.

I bought this frame for £110 from a dude on the 01fix1 facebook page. I only used it for about a week then changed back to my steel IRO, just because I feel a bit more nervous leaving the Dolan locked up than I do my ratty old IRO. I have taken the seatpost, which was included in the price, but have added an expander for the carbon fork which wasn't with it.

All the above for £110, and I'll deliver it for you too within manchester. Will try and upload a pic but can email one straight away if you pm me your address.

  • After a 100mm or lower 26mm clamp quill stem.

Also, some fairly wide 42/44 ish bars, some form of brake/gear cable routing, either classic drop or compact.

    Anyone got anything?

  • anyone got a pair of porteur/north road bars for sale...? my commuter ones broke yesterday and need something to keep my on the road..!

I've got a ProLite 110mm threadless stem and a quill to threadless adaptor..

  • Cheers, I've got an adaptor which I'm using for now but really after a quill stem because threadless stem just looks a bit chunky.

  • I want to sell my LS jersey (http://dyzmn8020x6cd.cloudfront.net/sys-master/products/h74/h02/8797597335582/LSJ07-AW13-Rapha-LS-Jersey-Dark-Fig-Angle-e.jpg_MEDIUM) in Fig, size small, barely worn (3 or 4 times by me, got it off ebay BNWT)

Would like £70 for it collected in manchester or +postage

    .

  • Anyone have a brake lever for sale? After the crosstop kind, my bars are 31.8mm where the stem clamps but thin out a little so i'm not sure what size i need >< will have a measure up tonight.

I think I might have one of these at home you can have for a fiver. It will be unused, I bought a pair but only used one for a front brake.

I'll have to double check though as I'm not sure where it is.

  • If you've got it and it fits, i'll take it!

  • I'm assuming it will work with your brake? someone with more knowledge may be able to confirm.

  • Crosstops normally only work with brakes that need a canti-type amount of cable movement, so mini-Vs and side-pull brakes.

Avid SD7 is a linear-pull/Vee-brake lever, so you'll get more power but less modulation if you run it with a side-pull.

  • ^ there you go.

I knew someone would show up.

Nice one. I'll dig it out of my parts box tonight and send you a PM.

  • It will work, but it'll be sharper than with a standard cross top or road lever (lack of modulation). I think you can set the speed dial to change the pull to compensate for this a bit...

  • hmm sounds OK...

  • It'll be fine, endo city.

  • If it's anything like my experience of pairing a v-brake lever with a side-pull caliper it'll do the square root of fuck all in terms of stopping you.

  • Yeah I was thinking it would work the other way round; I've checked Sheldon & here's what he has to say: (Direct-pull = V-brake-type)

    Brake Levers for Direct-pull Cantilevers

Direct-pull cantilevers have double the [mechanical advantage](http://sheldonbrown.com/cantilever-geometry.html#mechanical) compared with traditional brakes, so they require special brake levers. Direct-pull brake levers pull the cable twice as far, half as hard. The lower mechanical advantage of the lever compensates for the higher mechanical advantage. of the cantilever. It is not generally safe to mix and match levers/cables between direct-pull and other types for this reason.

[]Conventional brake levers used with direct-pull cantilevers will usually not pull enough cable to stop in wet conditions without bottoming out against the handlebars. In dry conditions, they either won't work, or will grab too suddenly.
    [
]Direct-pull brake levers used with any other type of brakes will feel nice and solid when you squeeze them, but due to their lower mechanical advantage you'll need to squeeze twice as hard to stop as you should, so unless you are a lightweight rider with gorilla-like paws, this combination isn't safe either.

  • i.e. for better stopping you want MORE lever travel for LESS brake travel = mechanical advantage. V-brake levers do the opposite, i.e. more brake travel for less lever travel.

  • oh I forgot to look. I'll do it tonight I promise.

Selling this without the carbon steerer bung as I need it for another bike. In light of this and because I need a quick sale price down to £95 for everything else, that's frame, full carbon fork, headset and seat clamp.

EDIT: Also got some seatposts that fit (27.2), carbon or alu in reasonable condition, few scatches, £10 each.
EDIT2: I'll donate £5 if this sells too.
EDIT3: Fork is full carbon and is drilled for a brake.
