  • Anyone got a spare black 46/50t chainring for me? I need to sort my gearing out really badly, I've only got 3 skid patches and I'm going to be paying for new tyres every month on this...

  • How about turning your tyres around once in a while...?

  • that is not the main problem here.

what is your cog as then you are more fexible if you get a cog which gives good patches. but i may have a 50 at home will look later, oh but not black. 19t is a great skid patch cog. altho I still get through a tyre a month but that's how I roll yo.

  • i need a freewheel for tomorrow! anyone got anything 18t or higher really.

  • GBH have 20t freewheels in stock

  • ste said he bought the last one, are they open sundays?

  • nope

  • anyone have a super shortish mtb stem, like andys on his polo bike, something like this short and smooth on the knees/groin they wanna sell?

  • that is not the main problem here.

sounds like exactly the problem, just turn your tyre a couple of inches every now and then

  • don't even have to turn the tyre, just take the chain off the cog and rotate wheel a quarter turn....

....or buy new tyres. new tyres are lovely.

  • anyone in mcr got a 48t chainring or 18t fixed sprocket i could buy off em?

  • I do!

    i have a 18 t surly 1/8 cog you could buy for £10?

    no chainrings though

  • @ olc - i gotta ta 48t 144 pcd chainring, used for 50k's, trade for two pints of totally awesome beer

or truvative 48t 144 pcd chainring, unused, £30

  • hi thanks for replies. cog sounds perfect roo

craig, what do i need to measure to see if 144 fits? looking at this
    http://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_bo-z.html#bcd
it seems i need to measure from bolt to neighbouring bolt and look in column 3 of table!!

  • i'll bring on thursday si.

nasty - is PCD cooler than BCD? i've always wanted to know...

  • thursday's good. haha, i think PCD is british name and BCD is eitehr american or european name

nasty, i'll work out if that's the right size for me tonight

  • PCD IS WRONG. dang this annoys me alot. pcd stands for pitch circle diameter right. which doesnt make sense when talking about bolts, cause the pitch is the distance between the rollers on the chain. completely different?!! /BCD for the win.

  • anybody got and 1" steerer mtb forks?

  • cheers lanterne. u posted that just after i left the office where i have a printer. haven't got one at home, will have to use an old fashioned ruler. nice idea tho

  • olc - what cranks they going on?

  • alright craig. doesn't measure up as 144 :-(
currently got a 130mm chainring. i used the large chainring from the old multispeed set-up (my bikes a rather ghetto conversion!). now i want to get a tougher SS chainring but if need to replace the crankset too, i might leave it for now

  • I've got one of these in black somewhere... they fit 110 bcd & 130 bcd.... the one i've got is 47t i think, which is quite good for having quite a few skid patches.. i'll see if i can see it when i go home to get my polo bike...

Oh, it's 1 1/8th inch... what's your chain at the moment...?

  • nasty can you pick up some clear champs for me please from planet x. do i give you the dollar or order online?
