Hi from London. Pretty sure the nice guys from 5G will vouch for me :D
Need a 48h front wheel, anyone has one going spare?

Cheers noted, I saw that and have already DIBSed a few other item from him but not too keen on a wheel build and prefer to buy a whole wheel.

I have this over in classifieds.
As the title suggests I have a Thomson EIite Layback Seatpost 31.6 x 367mm for sale. I used it for about two weeks but it turns out that I need something with more setback.
It's in pretty much 'as new' condition, there are no marks from insertion and I generously covered it in grease before inserting (ooh err)
One thing I should point out though is it has two dents, one on either side, caused by over tightening the seat clamp. I have tried to capture these in the photographs. This is only a cosmetic issue, shouldnt cause you any problems, but as it's not in mint condition I will sell for £35 + postage (I'm based in Manchester)

I need an old frame and fork, pre 1986, must be steel.
54-58 top tube, seat tube 58max.
A full bike would be awesome but I'm going to swap the bars for 27" chrome sweeps so something like a cruiser/tourer/BSA would be perfect. If its just a frame and fork, I need the*headset, BB and seat post to be "normal" sizes.
Don't mind what colour or brand but no structural rust.
Max £50 for something ridable, otherwise less for something fixable, etc.
I need to have the bike ready to ride by Friday 29th
The event is a build-off so if you have anything interesting in the shed, now's the time for its rebirth.

I've still got these:
531 Raleigh "strada", st is 54 c-t, tt is 55c-c - very nice bike, rode it for years, has mudguard eyelets, BB was stuck and had to be heated up hence the discolouring down there. No dents or dings I can see but plenty of wee scratches. Headset is OK and included.
£40
753? Concorde? ST 56cm c-t TT 54cm c-c, Not sure if the decals are correct but it was sold to me as a 753 concorde, its a fair bit lighter than the raleigh and has nice lugs. It has a big dent in the TT but I rode it like this for 6 months on the manchester potholes, I can't see it causing a problem really (no guarantees obviously, buyers discretion). Headset is almost new and included.
£45
Concorde is currently built up and being ridden but will be stripped shortly (tomorrow probably). I've got the original cranks (no rings)£5 and shimano exage RD £free. The white stem pictured on the concorde is available too £5. Think I have the original downtube shifters from the raleigh as well, which you can have for free as I won't use them again.
Anyway, let me know if you fancy any of the bits, might have some other shite lying about that would suit too.

Oh and both BBs are 68mm english and seatposts are 27.2.

Non-oversize 753 puts it '75-mid80s, and the effect on that paint is probably why no one wanted to get the dent fixed! I'll have to see what 130oln and cassette bits I have, the builds are meant to have no more than 5 gears so I'd give it 5 9sp cogs and a straight chainline :-)
Also means me selling bits to create more beater budget...

I've a Carlton f&f that you can have for £0 as you know it's a pain for me to deliver. It needs a 25.4 seat post. Paint is ratty, there's 2x27" wheels, bb(cot tweed crank) headset, if you wanna come an get it its free.

I think the OLN is actually about 125mm.
Didn't realise you meant £50 for the whole build, you can have either of those frames for £30 I guess, they have been lying around for long enough!

Sorry Dave, I can't do that.
I mean, I won't have time to fetch it and have it built up in 8 days, especially with London taking 4 of those.
Taba: I'll take the Concorde for £30, I think I have one 126OLN rear wheel. I can fetch it next Tuesday (other evenings possible, but PITA). If my 27" tyre doesn't fit, I'm sure 753 stays will flex in 3mm each.

Great, will be sad to see it go but need to get rid of it really. Will flex for sure, I'm running it with 130mm wheel right now. Next tuesday should be fine. Just want to reiterate that I am not sure if its 753 or not, that's what it was sold to me as, and its light, a lot lighter than the 531 raleigh.

I think on a 531 frame, the cable guide would have bent rather than the tube, but 753 is just skinny heat-treated 531 anyway.

Does anyone have a vice/ know anywhere i could use a vice for an attempted seatpost removal?
