  • Wanted:

56cm c-t 55-56 c-c, good quality steel, track bike or road bike suitable for fixed, condition of paint, decals etc not important.

Would consider swap for my 54cm square 1991 raleigh, 531 tubes, fairly scruffy light blue paint and peeling decals.

    For sale:

    16t cog, good condition £7
chopped + flopped white bars with matching quill stem, pretty tatty but functional £10 the pair.
Shimano "exage" rear brake caliper, front and rear leavers + front and rear derailluers and down tube shifters 12 speed, well used but functional could do with new jockey wheels on rear derailluer £15 the lot.
Shimano "biospace" (weird shaped chainrings)chainset, cranks good, chainrings very worn £free.
6 speed rear wheel off the same bike, old and pretty knackered but functional, served me well for years, true to about 2mm i reckon. £5

  • Anybody got any cheap/freecycle bars 25.4 clamp

really doesn't matter what just temps till I get my fancy ones!

    I'm barless!

  • I have the drops and stem off a fuji track, it's 26mm clamp but with stem.

  • How much would you want for them? Cheers!

  • £15 sound fair?

  • Sounds good, is there any chance you could get me a quick snap of them and I'll most likely take them off your hands.

    Cheers

  • Yeah, I'll do it in a bit.

  • Ok sourced a new frame so I have a 54cm Raleigh frame and fork with 531 tubes available in manchester.

Is set up fixed at the moment so happy for anyone to have a go on it should they wish. I love the way it rides, very smooth but nippy too and it has served me really well for about 4 years, its just time I sorted something that fit me a little better (I am 5'10" but it would suit someone 5'6" to 5'9" or someone my height who likes riding a smaller frame.)

Will try and get a pic up in its current form, I think it looks pretty good even with saddle high and long stem.

Will include old but functional (original) headset, natty sakae seatpost and any other bits and pieces I mentioned in post above that came off it.

    Asking £75

  • WANTED

I'm after some nice square taper track cranks for a new project.
Black or silver would be preferable.
Don't mind if there's a ring attached or not.
    Not too pricey please.
    or
Willing to swap for sugino messenger cranks which I currently have with a 46t chain ring.
Sadly the pedals have welded themselves on!
So you're stuck with welded pedals with clips.

If you'd like to remove the pedals from the crank arms, then I'd love you forever and ever, but I can't get them to shift!

Let me know if you can help out.

  • @law, have you tried applying a bit of gentle heat with a blow torch? Usually does the trick when shits stuck!

  • Hammer the fuck out of it!

  • wanted
anyone have a 700c rear wheel? I've only got about £60 to spend..

  • @law, have you tried applying a bit of gentle heat with a blow torch? Usually does the trick when shits stuck!

Yep blowtorch, cold water, pedal spanner and lump hammer.
Sadly to no effect. Bust the pedal spanner though.

  • I have a vice and a big pedal spanner if you want to try that, does involve a promise to try polo though.

  • keep peadiling in manchester have halo aerowarriors for £60

  • Yep blowtorch, cold water, pedal spanner and lump hammer.
Sadly to no effect. Bust the pedal spanner though.

you're turning it the right way right?

  • Or left on the other side.

  • Yep.
It's been to Ken fosters (only cos I was cycling past) they couldn't shift it either.
    I might try somewhere else.
They're Sugino RD Messenger cranks so they have the allens in the reverse of the pedal. I've tried both methods, nut and allen.
Tried the hit it the wrong way, then the right way trick to try to loosen it.

Also tried a liberal soaking in WD40 for a couple of days.

I've been told coca cola is pretty good at removing stuck steel to alu.
    Anyone had any success?

  • Plus Gas, then heat, stick the crank in a vice, put a LONG pedal spanner on it. Then hit the fucker with a hammer. Hard.

  • try caustic soda
