  • @hardtofollow - it doesnt seem like anyones interested in manc, just start a for sale thread with it in and you should be able to sell. People on this forum are very safe and reliable to buy and sell to (ive never had a prob and ive bought and sold tons of stuff here) though theres always the odd bad egg...

to post the bike get a cardboard bike box from ur local bike shop (gratis), wrap it well, make sure there is a piece of plastic/wood between the dropouts and fork, bring to post office, hey presto!

  • Hi all,

I put my '08 Cannondale Capo on page 32 of this thread but I don't think anyone local was interested... no? Dr Chan had mentioned putting it on the main classified page and posting it (I presume most people looking would be in London). Has anyone got any advise on posting a bike in the UK? Or on selling stuff on here in general?

    Cheers, Stu

hey man. i dont know much about posting larger stuff in the uk. but with regards to selling on here, you're going to want to put some good pics up of key parts like dents, dings, state of drivetrain/wheels/brakes if you're selling the bike as a whole. it might also make sense to take the bike apart and sell it on as parts, that sometimes brings more cash in but it depends on the parts obviously. hope this helps

  • Cheers guys, much appreciated! Will get some more photos and put it on the classified.

  • Ive got 3 sixsixone MTX gloves, medium, for sale, apparently could be customer returns ect, checked them all, can't see any marks or signs of usage, still in retail package. - £5 each.

  • 3 pairs of gloves right? what colours and sizes?
    dibs 1 pair

  • dibs 1 pair - u coming polo tomoz scott??

  • Did you ever see how much post there was above the insertion line...? Is the post still available? Take £30 for it....?

  • You've confused me a bit there, the picture shows there's 262mm of post above the insertion line?

It's immaterial though as the post went today sorry. =(

It went to a LFGSS member who's riding from Land's End to John O'Groats, was finding his bike a bit cramped and just happened to be stopping off in Manc for the day! =)

  • was he riding fixed gear?

  • I don't think so no, he told me what bike it was but I now can't remember! We had a bit of a chat, I'm sure he'd have mentioned if it was fixed.

Rincewind, do you still want these RB021's, was kinda expecting a phone call today. There sat at work but you'll have to come pick them up if you want them rather than meeting (for obvious reasons).

  • I have some Cinelli Criteriums that u can have for £15 - they're 42s though...

  • Weird... Can't see the picture on my iPhone and didn't see it on my mac at work either.... Hmmm.. Oddness...

  • hmmmm I was having a look at some in the general classified's and they're 40s and they look too wide... Thanks anyway though :P ,appreciated

looking for something along the lines of these
    http://affinitycycles.com/store/nitto-b123-track-bar.html

  • Ideally you want to have bars the same width as your shoulders.... So depending on your size 40 cm is probably a pretty good size.... I'm 6'1"'and running 42cm

  • ok, that's pretty good advice actually, thanks ^^. I'll see if I can get postage for the 40s

  • I'm selling my custom made Push Iron from GBH. 60cm seat tube cc and top tube (I'm 6 foot 4), finished in a really dark green that looks kind of black from a distance, with following components:

    • Cut down Nitto risers (no sweep) wrapped with black Brooks tape
    • Nitto Pearl stem (110mm I think)
    • San Marco Concor/ 14 bike co black suede saddle - immaculate condition. No brand seatpost
    • Black H son rims (front machined for brake) on gran compe hubs gatorskins with plenty of life in them.
    • Sugino messenger cranks and chain ring (generic BB)
    • MKS pedals with Toshi double straps

It's well loved and well used, plenty of scratches on the wheels and paint chips on the frame and forks - all cosmetic though. It rides fast and looks good, nice tight clearances.

Looking for £450. Selling because I'm moving out of town (seems less fun on country roads than in traffic) and have been spending all my time on my road bike. It's hanging up in GBH if you want to check it out, I don't have an update photo, but here's an old one that at least sows the frame and some of the components:

  • Sorry to seem a bit noobish here... but where or what is GBH? apart from Grievous Bodily Harm but I don't think that applies in this context

Also, if you split (on the off-chance you do) can I get dibs on rear wheel depending on how much you want for it?

Sweet ride though, a shame it has to go :P

  • GBH is a bike shop on Whittle St (just off the top end of Tib St).

  • ah kool might head on over

IMHO, I think you're not being realistic about the price mate, no offense.
The actual value of what is put together is way less than that,..., even if that's
    what you've paid.

  • its custom made, well worth it! stop being a keyboard warrior! Id be intrested but I want one with drops on.

  • :>P

    whatever

  • I think that's a pretty decent price, considering. Handmade frame, choice fashionable components and a good looking bike. Good luck with the sale.

If you can be bothered posting, stick it on the forum proper and it'll go in minutes, no doubt.
