Because the verdict was in 2013. The death was in 2011. The received wisdom on the street at the time was that he was cuffed, because the police always cuff a black man when they have a warrant to search his home for drugs. The suggestion that he had been uncuffed for his own comfort was scorned, because 9 times out of 10 when the police arrest a black man and there are no witnesses, they beat him up. (N.B. It's believed that there is not one black man in Brixton who has never been beaten up by police.) His comfort was hardly a concern. So in 2011 the police lied about him being uncuffed and stabbing himself. In 2013 they embellished the lie by adding the stuff about his abrupt change of mood, grabbing a knife from somewhere unknown, threatening officers (plural) and stabbing himself.

The Tottenham chap, that caused the riots, was going to kill people. He was armed with a semi automatic.

The evidence in this case is the knife wound and the statements by police. And I'm afraid it's normal for police to lie in court.

When I read the article, part of me wondered how he got there and that people had found his clothes/keys and nicked them. The police are appealing to see if anyone noticed any things left around for the last 8 weeks.

It's hard to get a legit gun, even harder to get real ammunition. People try to make their own. One chap was shot at close range outside a Brixton bar and the home made bullet bounced off him. Maybe the spread of rifles in Ukraine will change all this.

Wetsuit makes you bouyant which I'd imagine is awkward if you don't want the body found too soon. Depending on what kind of wetsuit it is then getting it onto a non-cooperating body sounds close to impossible.

Doesn't look like there is any CCTV up there but there is vehicle access to the reservoir.

So bobbed about for 8 weeks unnoticed. Sort of makes it worse/sadder imo.
