So the absolute scummiest people are most susceptible to Farage and filth like that Tory advert:

You'd think people have seen at least some of the light after the thugs torched buildings etc. But on my FB I'm still seeing people in my local community group giving it "I'm not a racist, I'm just concerned for my country and the mass influx of immigration"
Honestly the most depressing thing is seeing folk justify this behavior as patriotism. At least it made it easy to know who just drop from my friends list in the next FB cull.

Fucking hell, that's mad.

Facebook is what you need to drop.

Yeah I know. But a lot of my gaming and hobby groups use it to organise :(

Now I want to say you are wrong. I really do. As I'd hoped things had changed from the Tory party's 70s election campaign of vote labour and get a black living next door but those voters seem to have moved to reform.
I am wrong and you are right, just goes further back than the last 14 years.
Edit - the Tories never stopped I just got immune to it.
Another edit: my bad coloured person was used not black. Sorry. https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:720/format:webp/1*AmXfF6JEyFTOWr-zpakgVQ.jpeg

Meanwhile, at Plymouth Crown Court, 29-year-old Lucas Ormond Skeaping was sentenced to 18 months for violent disorder after throwing missiles and knocking a teenage boy off his bike with a motorbike helmet during a protest in Plymouth on Monday.
Judge Robert Linford said "you came to protest and to do so peacefully but things rapidly deteriorated".
Prosecutor Lewis Aldous said the defendant had a GoPro camera with him which captured him throwing a full 500ml bottle of Coca Cola and a rock.
Edward Bailey, for Ormond Skeaping, said the defendant was "against fascism", "abhors any form of racism" and had lost his employment at a bicycle company. -

He has an impressive list of skills on LinkedIn, might come handy in prison.

Due to idealism Just Stop Oil we’re unable to throw petrol bombs. This is why they got long prison sentences. Discuss.

Peaceful protest is bad... violence not so bad.

It just goes to show that these attitudes don't come about by accident. The more white, disenfranchised people figure out who's really causing the hardship they experience, the harder they are to control. It's in the best interest of those in power to divide the working and middle classes on racial, gender identity, economic background etc lines to prevent them from unifying and actually having the power to demand real change.
It's not hard for most people to see that it's successive governments that have caused the standard of living in this country to drop but as long as they can point to and "other" a group (in this case immigrants/refugees/ people of colour, historically Jewish people, Eastern Europeans etc) as the culprits they can promise to solve the problems that they themselves have created. It's a tale as old as time.Edit: sorry if that comes across as trying to argue with you Lynx, it's not. It's just my 2p on the topic and yours was a relevant comment to reply to.

Didn't see it as an argument, saw it as discussion and I believe you are right.
Sort of hoped that we stop falling for this shite. Yeah I am that stupid.
Edit an argument would need more name calling;)

Patriotism and racism, quite often difficult to tell which is which.

I am enthusiastic, confident and friendly in my approach, but stern when need be. I remain calm and professional in stressful situations…

It made me feel very happy indeed. I spent a good two hours wandering about Hoe Street grinning like an idiot.
You’re doing a similar thing to those astronauts, Boeing one way and anyone with a flight worthy spacecraft back. Looks like an eight month layover in the ISS first though.
