Sounds very familiar.
Why would you want a population to be unhealthy and any additional strain on the nhs

They've been closing it for a decade. And the pool will likely stay open. It's the leisure centre by Sainsbury's that will go. Other than blood donations I don't know what actually happens there. There apparently used to be a youth club in the 80s.
As for the private school one. It's always rammed when I'm there for the kids football training.

Because you can close the site down and build MOAR houses?

It's apparently sold to Sainsbury's now. But I'm a member of the gym, kid goes to taekwondo there, there are all manner of classes and clubs at the leisure centre side, and all manner of social clubs, notably for old people, on the other side. I'm also giving blood there next week. We'll still have the pool, but a whole lot will be lost to the community.
Walk the dog through the school grounds a fair bit and I've rarely seen anyone on their lovely 4g pitches, tennis courts or running track.

More tragedy today.
They’d better be keeping this fucker isolated and on suicide watch. No doubt he’s looking at a life sentence, and him dying without any form of explanation would be the worst outcome for everyone impacted by his actions.

I ended up down some american twitter rabbit hole and the consensus amongst the nutjobs was that France was "punching down" against Christians...

I thought Sainsbury's always owned the plot. They definitely owned the old dept. Store.
Go after school and there are hundreds of community clubs using the facilities. There are running and athletic clubs for adults and kids, hockey teams. Kids holiday clubs. Tonbridge jrs use the 4g over winter when the park is unavailable.
Probably less over summer bar the holiday clubs.
We have friends kids that do lessons in the pool too.
It's all income for them.
And £1k a year isn't bad when virgin active and £144 a month though I'd only want to swim so wouldn't bother.

Except it was all based on greek mythology?

Yeah, I didn't watch much of the ceremony but even in the highlights it was pretty clear it wasn't the last supper

It’s attached to a school, but is independent of the school. So my guess is it will get flattened and sold to the school.

Fuck, was that a brick to the back of the head and to the bollocks?!

Won’t be difficult to ID the guy presenting to A&E with a fractured skull and burst testicle(s).

Uncontrollable vomiting will definitely help get that weight off though

It certainly will!
They've announced our town's (slightly ageing, but not decrepit) leisure centre is going to be closed and 'replaced'. Which means it'll be closed and likely never replaced. The only option will be joining the private school's leisure centre for a grand a year (per individual), with its extensive amazing facilities that are barely used because normal people can't afford them.
