Paula Vannells handing back her CBE. So let's consider the matter closed and move on, right?

I don't think we're allowed to like Marina Hyde's work because of what school she went to, but this is good:

Criminal charges next, Shirley?
Dereliction of duty in public office amirite?

• #86005
Yep but only if she’s not the only one/scapegoat.

She was the Chief Executive. Accountability is what you’re paid for.
-
• #86007
Absolutely, no way does she get a pass but it should be more than just her from the Post Office.
Plus there should be people from Fujitsu on the hook.

Vannells, van den Bogerd, and whoever the Fujitsu Chief Exec was. Assuming the drama was/is accurate, they’re the ultimately accountable ones who had complete oversight.
The whole thing was an absolute disgrace.

I’d say the person in government who proposed/signed off the CBE has some questions to answer too but they will slime out and blame Starmer for not acting when DPP despite the prosecutions being bought privately by the Post Office (which we, naturally, paid for).

‘Internal armed conflict’ breaking out in Ecuador. A TV station was taken over by armed gunmen, police patrols have been attacked with IEDs/landmines, and the govt has designated 3 crime syndicates as terrorist groups (meaning they can use the armed forces against them).
Not looking good. More widely, there’s already large numbers of migrants/refugees arriving at the US border with Mexico, a fact which is being readily politicised and weaponised by the US’ Republican Party and trump to weaken Biden’s bid for re-election and hold hostage the federal budget (which includes military aid to Ukraine).

Whenever I see clips of the day today I reminisce about how great it was, but then I’m also thrown into this nostalgia for a time when I could laugh at how far-fetched the satire was.
