Back then it would've been: family sized chocolate mud cake, 750ml Ice Break iced coffee, 2L tub of Cadbury's Caramelo ice cream.

Regardless of FSKs and 40%, it's pretty fucking shameless self promotional piece from the author and the guardian should be questioning it's standards, again.

These two threads on the cost of building public transport infrastructure in the UK really show yet again what a backwards country we are becoming, crap services at high cost

That consultation on closing all the rail ticket offices was extended - it now closes 1st September:
https://www.transportfocus.org.uk/train-station-ticket-office-consultation/
https://www.londontravelwatch.org.uk/ticket-offices-have-your-say/It is important to note that each train company has produced its own proposals – so there are 13 separate consultations running simultaneously rather than one, national consultation. Transport Focus will need to send a separate response to each consultation, commenting on the stations it covers.
Having people comment on specific stations or at a train company level helps ensure that any views/objections expressed are recorded against the appropriate consultation. This is why we have listed separate contact addresses below for each train company. However, any responses commenting at a national level or on a more generic basis will still be recorded and counted.

Does it seem at all possible that people who are predisposed to being SKs (F or otherwise…) are spread more or less evenly throughout the population, but those who find themselves in positions of trust over vulnerable people are more likely to have the opportunity to act on their impulses?
-
• #84144
I think someone was saying something very similar up thread.
-
• #84145
Or perhaps that predisposition to SK is equally distributed among the population, but something about certain jobs twists people into the worst version of themselves?
^ movie plot, not my actual opinion.

Putin will erase them from (Russian) history. I doubt that info will get through the fog of war, but wagnerites would do well to just surrender to Ukraine en masse now. If they stay with Wagner and aren’t sent to Africa, they’re dead; if they join the armed forces, they’re cannon fodder; if they rebel, they’ll be brutalised and then killed. Only way to survive, and stick it to Putin, is to fake their own death and/or surrender.
-

Average wage for a wagnerite is $1660 (top google result, don’t quote me). There’s something like 50,000 of them, so if NATO offered to pay each wagnerite $1,500/month to sit in a clean, secured, relatively comfortable prison camp for a year, that would cost $900 million, plus expenses. In contrast, by this time last year the US had committed to $100 billion for the war effort.
-
• #84148
I’m not really sure that’s how it works.
-
• #84149
Meant to draw attention to the ridiculousness of it all. Adding- still, the maths work out, paying them to surrender would be cheaper and likely more effective than paying for materiel to kill them, tremendous human cost aside.

That's not a bug, that's a feature.
