This ^^
Tories repeatedly tried to neutralise UKIP by adopting its language and positioning but ended up getting UKIPd. Especially once Johnson culled the anti-brexit tories.
It's a lesson for Labour: You can't try to appease anti-foreign sentiment (either anti-EU or anti-immigration) and hoping it will go away as you just end up feeding it.

Can anyone explain the Imran Khan situation to me? I understand he was PM, kicked out by a no confidence vote, tried to organise protest etc. Seems he's accused of corruption?

Pakistan's politics are extremely complicated and opaque, nominally civilian but the armed forces are really in control.

George Santos arrested. Despite the GOP being secretly very glad of this, I assume we'll see public statements from them about this being a witch hunt.
-
• #82256
GOP likely to have mixed feelings - he's an embarrassment, but their majority is boku fragile.
-
• #82257
Sure, but they get to be glad somebody is cleaning up his mess while being publicly outraged about it.

they need to go after that supreme court judge that has been taking all manner of kick backs as well now
-

Totally!
Negative attitudes to immigration have dropped significantly now that stirring up negative sentiments during Brexit has ended and it turns out that, oh no, maybe it wasn't the immigrants?
But I do wonder if the anti immigrant card is still going to work is ran the way it was during leave... (anti muslim bigotry / themmuns are stealing the houses and jobs...) or if lessons are learned for this generation.
I mean, not feeling much love from Labour either, has it all really gone, or if Labour will push for more rights during campaigning it all kicks off again?

Clarence is a real hot potato right now.
An endless stream of embarrassing stuff is showing up.
He is bringing the SCOTUS into the worst repute it has ever had. -

Reminds me of that bit in hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.” -

The irony here is off the scale but also incredibly heart warming.
Of all the lying cunts to be moaning about lying cunts:

Air pollution from cars and vans racks up health bills of nearly £6bn every year in the UK, according to a new report by researchers at the universities of Oxford and Bath.
The costs to both the NHS and society at large were highest in cities, and diesel vehicles were the worst offenders in terms of harmful pollutants.
In total, the scientists concluded the health cost of an average car in inner London over the vehicle’s lifetime was nearly £8,000. For diesel cars this figure was nearly double.
