This is were an agile approach to releasing society changing new technologies falls down.
Social media platforms aren't able to moderate or safeguard their users in the current text and video interface. Yet they want to extend their offering to VR.
Statements like this make me seem really reactionary. But it feels like we've spent the last 25yrs watching a libertarian experiment with the Internet, and where we've ended up is that you need a bit of thought and regulation.
You obviously can't plan and mitigate against every eventuality, but lots have been raised and yet there is no real conversation or planning.

If they were trained to shoot anything that moved on sight it would have been aok.
They could've just used cops for that.

Right, but they come with on-going costs, pensions and unions.
Importantly a machine can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear.

Seems to be a run of this in America at the moment.
First there was the young lad who rang the wrong doorbell, then two cheerleaders approached the wrong car and now a ball rolls into someone's yard.

Those cheerleaders were doing their thrice-weekly 360 mile round trip for fucking pom pom practice, which should be a capital offence anyway.

The pom-pomming or the 360 mile round trip?
Did you suffer some cheerleader-based trauma when you were an egg? -

Really upsetting read from so many angles. Worth taking the time though, what a strong person. I hope she can do something about the defence barrister and what's allowed there.

I can't find what the two counts of bullying actually were. I expect they were ghastly.

I don't think the report's been released yet, so he's getting his excuses in early.

Marvelous news. Genuinely unpleasant and deluded self-regarding puffed up prick of a man. Everything wrong with politics distilled into a cunt.

Still denying it in true Tory fashion

This is all meaningless fluff, he'll be back before the next election. Patel, Braverman, Raab - they all ignore the rules and abuse the little people they think rules should apply to, and never accept they have done, or are even capable of doing, anything wrong.
Edit - just read his resignation letter - it is actually quite fun that you can actually feel him seething through the page.

Did anyone see the C4 news Raab reconstruction vid last night? A real masterpiece of true crime media.
