The Hague is closer though.

Weird. How about an additional tax that goes directly to the workers. We could call it “raising the minimum wage”…

Three journalists, apparently. All members of the press with bona fides. I'd say that counts as "the press", especially given the UKPG has issued a statement on it.

Gavin Williamson is a proper cunt. How do these people always end up in the conservative and get away with it.

Careful now that's far too practical... :)

Because it's the party of cunts, for cunts.

What a fuckwhit.
"And we have to remember, you know, we're all stuck in this Brexit argument, we have to remember that what post-Brexit Britain looks like, is not the preserve of those people that voted Brexit, it's for all of us to decide."
Totally missing the point that what post-Brexit Britain looks like, has been the preserve of a tiny faction of headbangers with zero reference to anything other than their own personal whims and individual political expediency.
NEXT need to introduce mandatory drug testing for C-suit, because he's smoking crack.
I'm in a bad mood, but his whole "not this, except for when I want it" attitude really riles me up.

Interesting chart from the Resolution Foundation. Could go some way to explaining the UK's poor relative labour productivity

Puts us in a much better position once SkyNet becomes self-aware.

It is not the Brexit I wanted!!!!!! Yeah join the queue, you might be seen in 2033. Fuckwits.
NEXT need to introduce mandatory drug testing for C-suit, because he's smoking crack: LOL :))))))
As for his immigration comments, another one of we are good enough to fix job shortages for his shareholders and then can f-off, I don't see him call for worker rights for all, better wages, rights for immigrants...
My husband gets pissed off with these types too, they'd strip a company to the bare bones for profit and don't necessarily care about it...

Are there any graphs like that (economically, socially, etc) that show ways in which the UK is genuinely excelling at something to be proud of, compared to other rich countries?
Seems like an obvious point and the reasons why are pretty clear, but it feels like we are mediocre/poor at almost everything these days.

Strange as it may sound we usually do pretty well on surveys about social attitudes - answers to questions like "would you mind if someone of a different nationality / sexuality / race were to move in next door".

We’re the world’s largest exporter of financial services. What could make you prouder than that?

Good example; automatic car washes are declining and hand washes are increasing.
-
• #79068
I heard someone say that the other day.
Are modern car washes good now? Or do they still scratch the fuck out of your paintwork?
I thought that was the main reason they all disappeared. It's definitely the reason I've never used one.
That and developing petrol stations into flats.

We're in the world top 3 for Tea drinking.

Really, even now? In the Middle East and central Asia, they seem to mainline tea. Who drinks it over here any more? Everyone seems to be coffee-obsessed, even the non-hipsters.

I thought car wash workers were mostly illegal immigrants and/or modern slavery victims?

The sweet shop thing is something to do with business rates relief, I think. Better for landlords to have a shop with a business in it, and sweet shops cost fuck all to set up, initial stock cost is basically £100 in a cash and carry. Got sent an article suggesting that's why there's so many popping up, but cannot find it now
SEND HIM TO RWANDA!
