  • its a whooosh on my part

How did we get from tractor porn to domestic appliance porn?

  • Funny thread. Thanks for brightening my day.

  • Is there another meaning to waxed jackets I am unaware of?

  • Ah thanks!
    Everyday is a school day?

  • Everyday is a school day?

There are definitely websites for that.

  • I didn't watch Johnson on the TV this morning, but from skimming some of the comments in the Guardian, it doesn't read like he came across as being particularly in touch on it. This rather stood out:

Reid quotes from a pensioner, Elsie, who says her energy bill has gone from £15 a month to £85 a month. She is now only having a meal once a day. And she says she uses her freedom pass to spend the day on the bus, so she does not have to pay for heating.

Johnson says as London mayor he introduced the freedom pass.

Reid asks if he is saying the viewer should be grateful.

    Johnson swiftly moves on.

  • Amazing that only a few seconds after claiming he is honest, he claims to have introduced the freedom pass.

The freedom pass was created in 1973. At some point the age limit was increased from 60 to 66. When Johnson was mayor, he reduced the age for the Oyster equiv of the freedom pass from 66 back to 60 and possibly increased the hours in which it can be used.

So in other words, he did not create the freedom pass. He has never changed anything with the freedom pass. Another lie.

  • Irrespective of that, he’s suggesting that travelling around on buses for free to keep warm is a) a good idea and b) something he can claim credit for. Talk about being tone deaf to the needs of the electorate.

  • Sure. I didn't feel I needed to repeat what christianSpaceman said.

  • Thanks for that, he does actually specify that he introduced the 24hr freedom bus pass, which arguably is accurate (in terms of that he did increase hours that they could be used on buses) but its still pretty misleading I think.

  • Metro picking at the details too.

The Freedom Pass has existed in some form since 1973. Mr Johnson reinstated it as Mayor of London in 2012 – but it is not valid for 24 hours.

It is only accepted from 9.30am on weekdays and all day over weekends.

  • I’ve barely watched ITV for three decades, and even I know who Lorraine is.

  • I hadn't seen it - thanks.

You'd be forgiven to think him hanging his head might be in shame as he's read the story, but he's just trying to avoid the camera and think his way out of a 'bit of a jam'.

  • Johnson is hopelessly out of his depth in any situation where he is being asked about policy. That's why he is so reluctant to do interviews (or why his advisors are reluctant) He does the photo shoots and the press calls, wearing hi-viz and a hard hat; he does PMQs when he has a full house of boorish Tory back benchers behind him; but he's useless when he's being interviewed by anyone any political know how.

  • Jeez*. She's an experienced broadcaster, but hardly regarded as a serious, big-hitting political interviewer. And he absolutely unraveled.

*if I say that twice more, does he appear?

  • Richard Madeley could tear him a new one

  • Full interview on YouTube if anyone is interested:

  • Ha! I know what you mean. But Madeley wouldn't allow him to dig his own hole though, as he never lets anyone get a word in. The interviewees are just there for window-dressing while he rants.

  • Johnny Depp's personal weed stash:

No wonder he fucking talks slowly. Amber Heard's lawyers' motion to strike the case denied by the judge, which means she takes the stand tomorrow.

  • A full three minutes before the “world leading” phrase was rolled out

  • Astonishing bit of casual racism from The Guardian. The woman on the right of the picture they can’t be arsed to recognise is Roberta Flack.

  • Not to excuse the lack of appreciation but thats how the photo is captioned in the archives/what the pic-eds would go with

  • Forgive my ignorance, but I don't understand that answer.
