Also interesting to compare and contrast the forum's views on Shamima Begum.

Would reccomend reading the article I posted
Yeah...
Because this guy looks like a 'real' journalist not just some self serving toss pot with a blog site.

I think the villain is the system, not KR.
It's definitely both.

Thousands mind you. Must be good...

Its quite easy to determine he wrote for the new York Times and the Atlantic at minimum.
Its actually worth reading the piece, especially if you want to trash it. By trashing it and him before doing any due diligence your certifying the argument he made in the article. -

Which of those actions were illegal? Does that have anything to do with whether he's guilty or not of murder

Thought experiment for those “ah actually this was a legal self defence textbook case your honour” people here.
I thought they weren’t saying they believe it to be that, just that this is what according to the law of the states.

didn't read the article claxon
Everyone knows a real journalist has good and proper opinions and non journalists cannot say anything worthwhile. What a weird way to look at the world

Skinny.
Gillies sock puppet?

• #68111
Lmao, busted

He went with intent. Hey, here's a thing, don't take a fucking semi automatic weapon onto the streets in another town when there's shit going down with protesting and looting and rioting, and then just maybe you won't need to cry self defense after you fucking shot three people

Suck it up Buttercup. 😘

• #68115
Did you know one of the guys he shot was armed with a hand gun and was chasing him? Does that matter to you or not?
-
• #68116
you can lead a horse to water but i guess you can't stop them having shitty opinions
-
• #68117
i think that is a valid argument tbf - KR is pretty likely a huge piece of shit
but that doesn't change the fact that the not guilty result is quite likely the correct one
-
• #68118
Ah come on man. FFS. Seriously?
-
• #68119
He PUT himself onto the streets in a different town uninvited, and armed with an AR-15.

Credit to skinny for actually engaging with it rather than just going with the easy narrative. This case is more complex than people would like it to be.
-
• #68121
i'm not seeing anything here that invalidates the argument for self defence though
i think it might be worth, generally, for people to indicate whether their opinion relates to the moral case or the legal case here because those are two very different conversations
-
• #68122
don't forget to credit his sock puppet account too

As I have sadly learnt, carrying an assault rifle is legal and normal. There is no intent, not under the law as it stands.
You seem to think that accepting the facts, as disgusting as they are, is sympathising. Its not. Its tragic from start to end. But the problem is that the situation was even possible. The law is broken from the beginning, but it seems he did not brake the law, as undigestable and morally repugnant as it is.

I honestly cannot believe people are on here defending some fucking itchy trigger fingered white supremacist freak.

Excellent suggestion.
Cheers.
I imagined a bear with guns, and assumed it couldn't be that.
