Seriously there is a worldwide shortage of almost everything and it is going to get way worse.
Friends who are residential builders have been waiting months for appliances, one maker estimated 6 months for a big order of fridges.
My car dealer can’t get cars from their manufacturer. Not even taking orders on some models.
Local bike shop can’t get bikes.
Friend in China (Shenzen) says power supply is unreliable and is worried about heat in winter. -

What is the case for it getting way worse?
It does seem that market responses to supply issues are then causing unintended further complications.

This covers the government decision not to pay for upgrades and maintenance at a major gas storage site, despite warnings that it was necessary.

Started a new thread on global supply chain crisis. As the OP on the EU referendum and that Covid thread, I only hope this one doesn't get the same traction.

There’s a very real chance that there will be proper fuel shortages this winter, in which case I really hope SKSQC gets stuck into the government a fuck’s sight better than he did over Brexit and the pandemic.

People need to get off their Pelotons and back to their desks
Fuck that cunt. I work more hours at home than I ever did in the office. I just see my family more too and save money because it's not being spaffed on petrol or shit train services.

The UK with Brexit is putting itself in a worse position than others for labour and imports from the EU (GB only ..). But many other issues are world wide.
Electricity comes from Ireland mostly here in NI and has also gone up in price.
Heating oil, same. No petrol station queues though.

There was one outside Kings Cross just now telling kids they were being experimented on. Coppers didn’t want to know. Pretty much told me to fuck off when I reminded them how they clamped down on the Sarah Everard vigil, but not with these c*nts.
Some of the teenagers outside were giving him sh*t though.

Related: three antivax asshats in the USA who went into a school and tried to do citizen’s arrest of the principal for enforcing a mask mandate.
Covid needs to hurry up and deal with these misfits. -

Squint and it looks like the all time BTC chart.
See also OPEC and current crude oil prices, cheap US fracking was supposed to be the answer but shale companies have basically turned around now and said they can't do enough to counter what OPEC are currently doing (or not doing) so the price continues to go up. Why wouldn't you though if you knew the clock is ticking on your industry.
