    “At approx 21:15hrs on Monday 8 August police were called to reports of a 26-year old man found with gun shot wounds in Warrington Road, Croydon junction with Dupass Hill. The man was inside a car when police found him. “

    “He was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

    “Two other people, believed to be in their late twenties, were also at the scene. They were arrested for handling stolen goods and taken to a south London police station.”

    It didn't strike me as insensitive at all really. What we are seeing happening is stunning (in the worst way) and I don't think a little sarcasm is a bad thing. It helps soften the blow.
