Sadly I think you're right.
It's not difficult to be right about tories being cunts.

I bet Herrenvolk shite wouldn’t be so happy championing the final verse of Birmingham Six from the same album (strangely topical on a day sf killing prisoners makes the news)

He's probably been told by his paymasters that he's not been in the news enough over the past few weeks and to step it up a bit.

Soldiers always have bought some items of personal kit and probably always will. Some might have unique needs, some things make life a bit more comfortable, some kit is just a bit Gucci.
The boots issued since Boots Combat High are actually quite good. I have a pair of surplus Altbergs which are as good as the pair of civilian Altbergs I paid £200 for. -

Boots Combat High
Or Boots Cardboard Horrible as many refer to them.

That 16.5Bn is likely to be the rent we have to pay for keeping Trident at Faslane once Scotland leaves the Union.

Johnson backs Patel after damning report it emerges he's had for months- so advisor for Ministerial Code resigns...
Predictably cuntish behaviour from the current mob. Will the press actually greet this with the contempt it deserves? Doubtful.
How you unintentionally behave in the way she is reported to have done is beyond my comprehension.

The first time an MP has broken the code and not been sacked/resigned. This lot really are execrable.
-
• #62666
Is the normalisation of this that’s so troubling. They’re continually breaking the law, breaking convention and in an increasingly brazen way.
Nothing matters any more.

Nail on the head
Can't expect anyone else to follow the rules either now...

Yes - all this. Same in the USA. Show unwavering support to the leader and you can do anything without fear of comeback.
I have never been so disgusted, appalled and disillusioned by a government.
(And son 1 wants to go into politics...maybe his generation can put things right). -

Johnson backs Patel
Does that mean that Johnson has now broken the ministerial code, too?
I have no idea how it works, but it seems that by condoning a breach of the ministerial code, he must have broken it, too.
Not that anything involving Johnson gets close to logic.

It seems like teenagers these days are much more alert to social causes and seem to have a more innate sense of right and wrong but I wonder how easy it will be for them to make it in politics now the cork is out of the bottle on division politics.
Looking at the US, even someone like AOC who comes from a working class background and clearly has good intentions is just being sucked into a Dems good / GOP bad cycle and is losing focus on what actually matters.
Not really sure I see anyone occupying the middle ground of issues and winning recently. It just means nothing gets done.

Unless it was all a stitch-up to get a respected senior advisor to resign?

Once you've been sacked from government for lying to the PM you get immunity from sacking in the future. Its like a vaccination.

Labour gets dragged over hot coals for not having a proper independent complaints body, but in Westminster there is none either. Just suck up to the PM it seems.
I mean, surely, having something like what we call "the HR department/training/rules and so on" improves things for everybody?
Politics can be very toxic, some of the things said you wouldn't get away with in a company because they really classist/sexists and it makes for an unpleasant working environment.
Sorry, trying to be positive not gonna happen is it?
And Patel is really a highly unpleasant individual, proper gloating about ending Freedom of Movement while windrush v2 is coming end of next year if they don't amend EUSS laws.

Yeah - I know. Hoping he'll veer into Spad/civil service background politics rather than his current plan of MP. Don't think I could take that!
Given the state of discourse and division in the Uni politics he tells us about, I'm not sure there is much hope to come soon.
thank fuck for that - this ballet career i plumped for is wreaking merry heck on my groin warts.
