  • Is it too much to hope that they might burn down the shard?

  • BBC - bike shop in Chalk Farm ransacked.

  • The olympic organisers must be shitting themselves...

  • The Shard is awesome!

  • People are losing their minds.

    +1

  • Is it just me or has the police response to this been a bit pathetic?

Are they sitting back for a bit, letting them wear themselves out on soft targets like Debenhams and JDs before they go for the City, West End and other more "important" (read "big money/power") targets? Seems like a tactic I think. They're trying not to feed the fire (no pun intended).

Not heard any sirens here in Dalston for hours, very little traffic in fact.

  • Now it's just breaking and entering into residents houses in Ealing?! WTF! They have no shame

  • Call Ed please. He knows how to deal with zombies.

His BMW rack was purposefully designed for this kind of day.

    He's a criminal mastermind.

  • Fuck! hope everyone gets out.

BBC reporter says the police are there but not the fire brigade and the building has been on fire for 15 mins or so.

  • Woman talking about waking up to find guys in her house on Sky just now was scary.

  • Guardian reporter at Chalk Farm on BBC news now, outside the Evans.

Best rumour so far: London Zoo animals released.

  • Now it's just breaking and entering into residents houses in Ealing?! WTF! They have no shame

    Wjhat the FUCK

  • The Shard is* awesome!

    *Was

  • Youth gangs overheard by reporter (BBC) saying it's time to move to Hampsted

  • Time to get the Army in and shoot these scum, I'm sure some of you will give these cnuts
a political excuse. They are the greatest recruitment campaign the E.D.L have ever had.

  • Lots of screaming and shouting in Camden Town/Kentish Town road now...

  • More men with guns.

    Nothing could possiblie go wrong.

Well trained, professional soldiers, used to meeting extreme violence head on and are adheering to strict rules of engagement would IMO be considerably better than what I have seen the police do tonight.

Military riot gear is shite, the police TSG get all the good stuff.
What we need is a load of the French CRS, they are not renowned for a softly softly approach.

Maybe not the best kit but some of the best soldiers, only problem would be how recently they have had the relevant tactical training, I had it but then in my day it was more conceivable that you would get deployed to NI than somewhere like Afghanistan

  • men with bats and poles attacking motorists in chalk farm now

  • Now, I like the dissaffected, morally vacuous youth of today. AND I like the bribe taking, stop'n searching, kettling boys in blue. But Which is better?...

  • Nah, Party superstore, on the opposite side. Up the road from Yates's (think it's vodka revolution now)

well BBC said debenhams when talking to eyewitness?

  • Only a matter of time before someone dies. Then it's gonna get nasty

  • Well trained, professional soldiers, used to meeting extreme violence head on and are adheering to strict rules of engagement would IMO be considerably better than what I have seen the police do tonight.

you mean more than 'fuck all'

  • go to bed, you'd be alright.

  • Time to get the Army in and shoot these scum, I'm sure some of you will give these cnuts
a political excuse. They are the greatest recruitment campaign the E.D.L have ever had.

    wtf?

  • cycled across london from herne hill to leyton about 10:30 to 11:30. saw minimal action. some police outside a retail park at mile end and a tote betting shop window kicked in. get in and it's all going off. show of force needed and not just from police. time for all of us to take our community back.
