There's no question Lyme existed hundreds of years before the US military got its hands on it (if at all..) and land management and climate changes have definitely assisted its prevalence... but....
What started as something I immediately dismissed as a conspiracy theory apparently has some very real meat on its bones in the way that Lyme has developed and spread in the USA and become the silent pandemic that it has. The way that the CDC and medical institutes have responded is in itself totally inexplicable in the scope of its total denial that there's a problem.
Still, even in my own afflicted state, I can't bring myself to believe it's entirely true.

Uber 'The Most Diseased' Gruber.
I think time will unravel the clusterfuckery that's hindered proper research/treatment of people, the thing is that the UK blindly borrowed its scientific understanding of the illness from the CDC in America and has never deviated from that, resulting in our own shitey backward understanding of it that is entirely separate from biowarfare conspiracies and wholly attributable to institutional arrogance and a lack of empathy or interest.
Thankfully more awareness and more research is peeling this away and seeing improvements in treatment. But still, almost four years in I feel shot to pieces and incredibly sad for the time lost.

Shitloads of weapons and a massive missile. You can imagine the media attention this would have gotten if the suspects weren't right wing and whiteys.

I din't realise that the penalty for not wearing a seatbelt was so low (£100 fine and no points)
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-49040525Also amazed to see that more than a quarter (27%) of the 787 car occupants who died in crashes on Britain's roads in 2017 were not wearing a seat belt, figures show.
Given the number who don't wear seatbelts must be pretty small that's a huge proportion (although I guess there's a good chance that a high proportion of those not wearing seatbelts are drivers who cover a lot of miles).

And of course, trust people online to go "ok, so now can we make cyclists wear helmets too".
No. Fuck off.

Amazingly independent schools run by people who don't know what they're doing are failing.
The school library contains books that promote extremist views and support for an Islamic State. For example, a series of aims set out in one book includes ‘To help the Taliban government in the accomplishment of enforcement of Shari’ah in Afghanistan’ and ‘To struggle for the creation of Islamic states in which the Islamic canons will enforced practically [sic]’. On the front page of this book are the words ‘Don’t make the Jews and the Christians your friends’.
Ironically found in the contemporary fiction section of the library.
