Yeah it certainly was anyway.
I've always bought my hi-fi stuff there, good prices and the staff are good too, probably because they're happier than your average retail drone.
Why can't more people run their businesses like Julian Richer?

Back in the early 90s I spent the best part of a day in the listening room (when they still had one) of the Bloomsbury branch, auditioning amps with speakers before leaving with a pair of Tannoys, a Harman Kardon amp and a Sony 3 head tape deck. All of which are still working today.
ETA - Although fuck knows when was the last time I ran the tape deck. -

First separates came from RS too. All my mates too.
The CD and MD deck are still optimistically in the loft. Gave my amp away on here after it developed a buzz at low volume.
Also remember it being a GCSE business studies case study.
Fond memories.

I think it's one of the examples mentioned in The Secret Barrister of ludicrous claims that took far too long for the investigations to be halted.
(interesting read actually, and more than a bit concerning) -

I met a Tommy Robinson supporter who believes that it's all true and that it's a deep state cover up.
Open your eyes man, open your eyes.

Speaking of Tommy Robinson...
Tommy Robinson supporters are outraged to hear that he will be retried for contempt of court after his initial trial was deemed to have been unfair and his rights not honoured.

Still my first port of call for new kit.
Slight pity they try to flog you expensive interconnect cables nowadays though. I guess that is where the real money mark up is made.
But my first 'proper' amp, speakers and record deck was from the Leeds store when it was on the Headrow. Spent my first term student loan on it...

Definitely a heartwarmer. I had a really nice Marantz CD player from there that I must've bought in the late 90s until just a few years ago. I remember going up to the original store in London Bridge when I was a kid and pestering the staff. Always loved a Richer sounds catalogue....

Watching C4 news about the threat to abortion availability in US; well grim.

Must say, reading everyone's Richer Sounds stories and love has been a welcome change to the usual BREXIT bollocks, truly warming 😊

Had mates who worked in Bristol branch years ago, he let them use his holiday home when they wanted. Didnt have a bad word to say about him.
-
• #56668
I think that was part of the deal if you worked for him. He had holiday homes all around the world which were available to all of his staff. Kind of the exact opposite of where I currently work.

Strong headline
That rings a very distant bell, I bought it twenty odd years ago... Bit noisy at times, TBH I could probably do with a new stereo but I hardly ever use it these days... Which is sad, I've got so much fucking vinyl...
