Second thought when I saw the fatburg was how much energy it would produce if recycled.
Makes sense people collect it for free.

A lot of forecourt diesel has ~7 percent Biodiesel (B7) a significant proportion of which comes from used cooking oil, so you can drive quite a long way on a fatberg

I notice the Standard has turned off comments this time.
Oxford St can be a bit gnarly. Fingers crossed for her indeed.
Not going to say anything more.

There is actually a company recycling fatbergs into some sort of fuel and actively investing in hunting them down...heard it on the radio a couple months ago.

Makes sense. I work with a few renewable companies, mainly outside the UK, and some of the stuff they can do is nuts.
Once people start thinking about the calorific content of waste products and there is a financial incentive to find creative solutions cool stuff happens.

Looks to be a second push to find the Putney Bridge pusher.
Find it surprising he hasn't been identified already -

vegoildiesel forum shows many using
filtered, de-watered uco, (used cooking oil), in suitable diesel vehicles
and many using uco as the feedstock for diy bio-diesel.Lamb/chicken fat is 'Summer fuel',
(to avoid fuel filter blockages from high cpp uco/biodiesel).Arguably uco had an at least as good use as a constituent of pigswill
in pre-'Foot & Mouth' days. -

I suspect that the arrest of the Banker shortly afterwards killed a lot of the response that they might have gotten, with people thinking that "it can't be the chap that I think it is as they've got the guy already".
They've given a little more time so that their screw up is forgotten, and started again.

I'm pretty sure Thames actually have a FOG (fat, oil and grease) recycling centre, so imagine the fatberg is going there. They use it to increase the production of biogas that they produce from digesting sludge and which they burn in combined heat and power engines to power and heat their waste treatment works

What's the betting that the right wing spins it as a 'bloody foreigner' story instead of a 'appalling standards in the haulage industry' story?
mmm fatberg...
